Join Us at Merkle – Senior Content Strategist, Product & Website DesignJoin Merkle's growing content strategy team! We're a collaborative group of strategists, designers, and thinkers who believe content is at the heart of great digital experiences. As a Senior Content Strategist, you'll report to the Senior Director of Content Strategy and help shape how we deliver meaningful, user-centered content across both product and website design programs.
You'll be an individual contributor who helps us guide strategic understanding for client business leaders and teams by leading the creation, distribution, and governance of content that puts the audience first. You'll work with our UX, product, and design teams to ensure content is integrated into the customer experience.
Together, we'll build smarter, more scalable content systems. You'll help us grow our content strategy capability by developing tools, documenting best practices, and sharing strategic points of view that enhance the role of content in service and product design. We're looking for someone who's excited to shape the future of content strategy with us a builder and an expert.
Senior Content Strategist – Product & Website Design FocusResponsibilities
- You will lead the development of content strategies that align with client goals, user needs, and brand positioning across both digital products and websites.
- You will collaborate with teams—including UX/UI designers, product managers, developers, and strategists—to ensure content enhances the product and website experience.
- You will create content strategy frameworks and artifacts for product and service design, including content audits, content matrices, content models, journey maps, site maps, and migration plans.
- You will conduct and summarize user research, data analysis, and competitive benchmarking to inform content decisions that support both usability and outcomes.
- You will design and implement content governance models and scalable workflows to support content delivery, and maintenance across digital ecosystems.
- You will develop taxonomy, tagging, and metadata strategies to support structured, reusable content across platforms and channels.
- You will be an expert in content strategy, contributing to the growth of Merkle's practice by developing reusable tools, templates, and methodologies.
- You will dvocate for content as a core component of the product design lifecycle, from discovery and prototyping through launch and iteration.
Summary of Expectations
- Bachelor's degree in a related field and 5+ years of experience in a strategic content role, with a background in product design and website content strategy.
- Knowledgeable of content strategy for digital products and websites, integrating content into design workflows.
- Experience producing strategic content deliverables such as content audits, models, taxonomies, and journey maps tailored to both product and web experiences.
- Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), design tools, and analytics platforms.
- Translate research and data into applicable content strategies that promote engagement, usability, and performance.
- Experience influencing executive partners and collaborating across departments.
- Bring leadership and new ideas to content strategy and project teams.
The salary range for this position is $78,000 - $126,500 annually. Placement within the salary range is based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, and other factors permitted by law.
