The Opportunity  

The Adobe Express Engineering and Data Operations organization helps build better products, faster releases, and greater reliability for our customers. The Senior Director of Engineering will lead multiple teams responsible for our engineering infrastructure, including CI/CD and Experimentation Platforms, Data pipelines for analytics, Developer Tools, Observability, Delivery Pipelines and Engineering environments. This role requires a technology leader who understands technical and business realities and can articulate both a near-term action plan and a long-term vision and exert positive influence on the rapid achievement of milestones. 

This leader will play a role as a cultural evangelist who believes in DevOps and SRE principles and how those can be used to drive engineering productivity. 

  

What you'll Do  

  • Drive the architecture, execution and delivery of CI/CD Platforms, Developer Tools, Delivery Pipelines, and related engineering builds/branches and environments 

  • Lead and develop a 100+ engineering and data team 

  • Create the strategy for building and owning a self-service; enterprise-scale experimentation platform 

  • Foster a culture of collaboration and experimentation across product, engineering, and marketing to enable rapid prototyping, iteration, and a “fail-forward” mindset for new feature development 

  • Set standards around patterns, frameworks, technologies, and processes to promote a simple and consistent approach across multiple types of services 

  • Establish and track benchmark KPIs and SLAs to measure engineering productivity and improvements. 

  

What you need to succeed  

  • Demonstrated leadership experience in high growth environments: running enterprise scale services in private and public cloud environments; and leading large geo-distributed organizations 

  • Experience designing and managing large scale complex development frameworks, build, deployment tools, CI/CD infrastructure, test environments, and test automation. 

  • Solid understanding of statistics, data science, or large-scale data processing. 

  • Experience building or using A/B testing infrastructure; deep understanding of SRE operating models 

  • Deep working experience on at least one public cloud (Azure/AWS) and open-source software like Kubernetes, Istio, Prometheus, Elasticsearch, Kafka, Spark, etc. CD (Continuous Deployment) tools experience will be a plus 

  • Understanding of build and deployment systems and system configuration 

  • Experience setting up complete end-to-end fully integrated delivery systems (source control management, build tools, artifact repositories, deployment, and monitoring systems) 

  • Experience with performance engineering and load testing 

  • Establish the processes needed to achieve operational excellence in data fidelity, data privacy, system reliability, and enabling rapid experimentation and data-informed decisions. 

  • Drive the design, building, and launching of new data models and data pipelines in production. 

  • Define and manage SLAs for all data sets and processes running in production. 

  • Drive data quality across the product vertical and related business areas. 
    Manage the delivery of high-impact dashboards, data sets, and data visualizations 
     

 

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several  U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $197,700 -- $416,600 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for the job location during the hiring process.

At Adobe, for sales roles starting salaries are expressed as total target compensation (TTC = base + commission), and short-term incentives are in the form of sales commission plans.  Non-sales roles starting salaries are expressed as base salary and short-term incentives are in the form of the Annual Incentive Plan (AIP).

In addition, certain roles may be eligible for long-term incentives in the form of a new hire equity award.
