Job Summary & Responsibilities

About Us:
At ID Logistics, we are dedicated to fostering a dynamic and inclusive work environment where every team member is welcomed and valued. As a leading global 3PL (3rd party logistics) transportation organization with over 35,000 employees in over 400 sites across 18 countries, we pride ourselves on our customer-first approach and commitment to operational excellence.

Position Overview:

We are hiring a Finance Analyst II to join our high-performing Finance team within the 3PL/Contract Logistics industry. This partially remote role is ideal for a highly analytical and driven individual with a strong accounting who is looking to transition into a Finance/FP&A career path. While prior FP&A experience is a plus, it is not required. We are prepared to invest in training the right candidate in FP&A disciplines, to facilitate the transition from an Accounting background into a Finance-oriented role. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your accounting/auditing expertise to critical, business-facing challenges, and support business leaders and decision makers with actionable financial insights. The ideal candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills with a polished executive presence, and a solid understanding of US GAAP (particularly P&L accounting practices) within a dynamic, mid-to-large-scale ($1B+) company environment.

Location: This is a remote role with a need to be within a commutable distance of either Tampa/St. Petersburgh, FL or Philadelphia, PA/Delanco, NJ.

Work Schedule: First Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm

Travel Specifics: Domestic travel between 15-20%

Competitive Total Rewards: Competitive salary of $75,000 - $85,000 plus bonus opportunity. Along with base salary, our total rewards includes comprehensive benefits; medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with company matching, generous PTO, sick time, and company holidays. Compensation is based on experience, skills, and education.

Key Responsibilities:

  • In-Depth Financial Transaction Analysis: Starting in SAP, trace financial transactions from journal entry records through to their underlying support, to better understand and classify the related expenses and their drivers. Perform root cause analysis, aggregate the conclusions, and be prepared to summarize results to business leaders to help them make better operational financial decisions. Ensure assumptions are well-reasoned, factually supported, and explained clearly enough to be understood by non-financial colleagues.
  • Recurring Reporting & Analysis: Assist in preparing monthly financial reports, month-end variance analysis, and thorough executive summaries that provide clear explanations and valuable insights into business performance trends. Prepare polished analyses for presentation to both internal business partners/leaders and external customer partners, delivering key actionable insights and highlighting drivers of performance. Conduct additional ad hoc analysis as needed to support key business decisions, such as preparing profitability analysis of a specific facility.
  • Month-End Close Support: Support accounting close activities by reviewing actual financial results, investigating Budget/Forecast-to-actual variances, and aiding in ensuring both the integrity of financial data and compliance with company policies.
  • KPI Development and Monitoring: Assist in proposing, analyzing, and monitoring, key financial and operational metrics (e.g. ratios and percentages involving areas such as: labor costs, warehouse expenses, volume and productivity indicators, etc.) to identify trends, risks, and opportunities. Provide recurring analysis tracking these KPIs and their trending against targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with operational and support functions (e.g. Accounting, Purchasing, etc.) to fully research and understand the areas being analyzed. Be polished and knowledgeable enough to interact seamlessly with all levels of these groups and serve as the liaison between them when needed, to facilitate various analyses and projects. Grow into the Finance subject matter expert representing FP&A in any such initiatives related to your areas of responsibility.
  • Grow into an FP&A/Finance Partner Role: Over time, this role will be trained and developed into an FP&A professional, and as such they will eventually be expected to serve as the Finance Partner for a meaningful scope of the overall business. Initially the goal will be to develop into the Finance Partner for one material customer, supporting that customer’s business through all Finance processes, and providing financial insights and recommendations to support strategic initiatives. The role will be expected to build a strong, trusting relationship with the related operational business partners, and establish credibility by translating complex financial data into actionable guidance for non-financial stakeholders.
  • Continuous Process Improvement: Contribute to and participate in the continuous improvement of FP&A processes and tools to enhance the usefulness, quality, accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency of the FP&A department. Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement and lead the resulting process to implement positive changes in the areas identified.
Preferred Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in public accounting/external auditing, or 5+ years in accounting within a company. Demonstrated experience with P&L accounting. Experience in a mid-to-large company preferred.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements (P&L, balance sheet) and how they interrelate. Demonstrated ability to perform in-depth financial analysis and classification of transactions.
  • Intermediate or better proficiency in Microsoft Excel for financial modeling (e.g. complex formulas, pivot tables, etc.). Ability to develop and maintain detailed financial models efficiently. Advanced proficiency with experience using PowerQuery and PowerPivot is a plus.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy. Capable of translating large data sets into meaningful insights and actionable plans.
  • Very strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information and business insights to both finance and non-finance audiences of all levels. Effective at building relationships and influencing stakeholders. Strong executive presence.
  • High degree of self-motivation and ability to work independently and autonomously in a fully remote setting. Well-organized and able to manage multiple priorities and adhere to various deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information. A results-driven mindset with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting, or MBA. CPA or other relevant professional certification.

  • Familiarity with enterprise ERP systems (specifically SAP) and financial planning software (e.g. Anaplan, Planful) for budgeting and reporting.
  • Experience using data visualization or business intelligence tools (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) to analyze data and create financial dashboards is a plus.
