You’ll leverage your accounting, artificial intelligence (AI), and technical expertise to build solutions that enhance our accounting processes. You’ll develop tools, models and data products that automate complex workflows and provide actionable insights within our internal control framework. This role will serve as a key contributor in modernizing the accounting function through automation, data-driven reporting, and scalable process design.

This is an opportunity for a seasoned analyst who enjoys designing, building, and enabling automation—while collaborating directly with accounting teams to standardize processes, reduce manual effort, and increase efficiency.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead transformation initiatives to enhance accounting scalability, efficiency, and data integrity.

  • Work across Accounting and cross-functional teams to uncover efficiency opportunities, including AI use cases, document requirements, and translate complex financial workflows into well-controlled technical solutions.

  • Identify, design, and implement AI and automation solutions (e.g., system workflows, data integrations, reporting tools) to streamline accounting processes.

  • Use tools such as BlackLine and Alteryx to automate journal entries, reconciliations, controls, reporting, and other accounting activities.

  • Improve data architecture and reporting consistency across ERP systems, subledgers, and reporting tools, while ensuring completeness and accuracy of data, and alignment between source systems.

  • Support end to end delivery—from analysis and solution design through configuration, testing, deployment, and stabilization.

  • Partner with Accounting and SOX compliance teams to assess and develop an effective internal controls approach to automated accounting solutions.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Functional experience in Accounting

  • Hands on experience with BlackLine and building workflows in Alteryx (required)

  • Demonstrated experience with AI/LLM tools, automation platforms and RPA (strongly preferred)

  • Proficiency in SQL and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI (preferred)

  • Background in Oracle eBS ERP implementation and/or upgrades (preferred)

  • Demonstrated initiative in process improvement

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with the ability to drive tasks to completion

  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate cross functionally at various levels of the organization both domestically and across the globe

  • Understanding of US GAAP and SOX frameworks

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail

  • Strong project management skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Analytics, or related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in an accounting or finance systems reporting or data analysis role, preferably within a SaaS or technology environment.

  • Experience working in a large public accounting or consulting firm or multi-national corporate enterprise is preferable.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
