Legacybox is looking for an Sr. HR Generalist to support the daily operations of our People team through recruiting, payroll/ benefits administration, onboarding, compliance, and employee support.

This is a highly detail-oriented role that helps us to attract and engage the right talent and ensures our employees are paid accurately, onboarded successfully, and supported throughout their experience at Legacybox.

Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: Typically 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (+/- 1 hour based on business needs)
Work Environment: In-person, Chattanooga facility

 Responsibilities of the Sr. HR Generalist:
  • Recruit and interview front-line team members for Digifactory roles 
  • Support hiring and onboarding 
  • Point of contact for daily employee support and questions
  • Assist payroll administrator with bi-weekly payroll 
  • Review time off requests and time clock entries, missed punches 
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and wage regulations
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and onboarding processes
  • Coordinate background checks, employment verification, and onboarding documentation as needed
  • Address employee relations matters, investigations, disciplinary meetings, and terminations as needed
  • Maintain HRIS records and employee documentation with a high level of confidentiality
  • Support benefits administration, insurance reconciliation, and employee communications regarding benefits
  • Assist with training initiatives, performance evaluation processes, and employee development programs
  • Help maintain policies, procedures, and employee handbook updates
  • Compile reports and documentation related to OSHA, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and compliance requirements
  • Partner with managers to support staffing needs, retention efforts, and organizational initiatives
  • Be available for employee-relations traffic and general team member support 
  • Promote on-site team engagement events 
  • Coordinate benefits and employee programs, assist with open enrollment 
 What a Typical Day Looks Like:
  • Source and recruit candidates for open positions
  • Facilitate candidate interviews and usher hires through the onboarding process
  • Communicate with / coach managers regarding attendance, time punches and performance related matters
  • Respond to employee questions related to payroll, benefits, or HR policies
  • Maintain employee records and process HR documentation
  • Participate in meetings related to staffing, employee support, or compliance initiatives
  • Multi-task to support the day-to-day operations of the HR team 
 You’ll Likely Do Well in This Role If You’ve Previously:
  • Worked as an HR generalist, worked in recruiting, or administrative operations, have worked in payroll
  • Managed confidential information with professionalism and accuracy
  • Used HRIS, payroll, or employee management systems (ADP, Rippling, etc.)
  • Worked in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Balanced detailed administrative work with employee-facing communication
  • Interpreted or applied policies and procedures consistently

  • Comfortable navigating employee conversations with empathy and accountability
  • Knowledge of employment laws, payroll practices, and HR processes preferred
  • Experience with payroll systems and HR software required
 Education & Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years of payroll and/or HR operations experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field preferred
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification is a plus
  • Bilingual Spanish, a plus
