  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of legal documents and contracts with a focus on balancing business needs with legal protections.

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, acting as a trusted legal advisor and partner.

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory changes that may impact the company’s commercial operations.

  • Assist in the development and implementation of best practices and standardized templates for contracts and other legal documents.

  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior legal team members as needed.

What You’ll Need:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited U.S. Law School and active admission to a State Bar.

  • 10+ years of experience drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial contracts, with an emphasis on software licensing for cloud-based providers and supporting complex indirect sales deals.

  • Proven track record of successfully negotiating and closing complex commercial deals involving data privacy and data security documents.

  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills along with excellent business judgment and critical thinking skills.

  • Ability to collaborate with legal and non-legal colleagues and manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment with a “roll up your sleeves”, team-oriented mentality.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

  • Our legal team is completely distributed. Therefore, you must be able to thrive working remotely from home.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
