Job Summary:

Semtech is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Business Development Manager with a deep understanding of cellular wireless technologies and market trends. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within T-Mobile, developing and executing sales strategies, and building relationships across all levels within T-Mobile—from the field to the executive suite. This role requires the ability to effectively position Semtech’s solutions to partners and end customers while driving growth and expanding the customer base. 

Responsibilities:

T-Mobile Relationship and Business Development:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive T-Mobile partner strategy to drive business growth.
  • Manage both executive and field-level relationships between Semtech and T-Mobile.
  • Secure mindshare from Systems & Solutions architects, direct sellers, and indirect sellers to increase Semtech pull-through sales.
  • Create elite Semtech/T-Priority focused reseller group
  • Identify new market opportunities and use cases aligned with T-Mobile’s growth strategies.

Sales, Go-To Market, and Market Analysis:

  • Execute joint sales and marketing initiatives with T-Mobile to drive mutual business objectives.
  • Coordinate account mapping, co-selling opportunities, and joint prospecting to maximize sales potential.
  • Ensure alignment of sales processes to streamline lead generation, deal transactions, and customer success.
  • Manage sales targets and monitor T-Mobile KPIs to ensure performance.

Marketing and Enablement:

  • Build and execute joint marketing campaigns with T-Mobile to support business goals.
  • Drive the development of T-Mobile-specific sales enablement content to empower the T-Mobile sales team.
  • Lead training programs and workshops for internal and external teams at all levels.
  • Ensure Semtech solutions are fully compliant with T-Mobile’s device certification process.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8+ years working with a wireless carrier in marketing, and/or business development capacity.

Sales and Business Acumen:

  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and business growth.
  • Strong ability to develop and maintain executive-level relationships.
  • Direct experience working with wireless carriers, understanding their business model and objectives.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for relationship-building with key stakeholders in the industry.
  • Ability to analyze market data, build financial models, and understand market drivers to support decision-making.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to present complex technical information effectively at all levels.
  • Strong understanding of the competitive landscape and key players in the cellular ecosystem.

Technical Understanding:

  • In-depth knowledge of cellular networks, wireless technologies, and industry standards.
  • Proven ability to work with technical decision-makers and influence their buying decisions.
  • Strong technical communication skills, able to translate complex technical concepts into business value.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Pre-sales engineering experience (preferred) or experience as a systems architect.
  • Experience in pre-sales engineering or systems architecture for T-Mobile is preferred.
  • Public Sector experience and knowledge a plus
