The Impact of an Internal Audit Director at Coupa:
The Internal Audit Director develops and maintains a comprehensive corporate internal audit plan for the department, considering the organization’s risk management framework, including using risk appetite levels set by management for the different activities or parts of the organization. He/She is tasked with managing the resources to meet the internal audit plan established. The Internal Audit Director helps the organization to achieve strategic, operational and financial excellence by leading multiple projects and managing the identification and evaluation of the organization’s risk areas. The individual assists the Head of Internal Audit/CAE with managing internal audit activities and reporting to stakeholders. He/She value-adds to the organization by fostering a culture of learning and professionalism within the organization. The individual plays a substantive role in monitoring and overseeing staff supervision, training, mentoring and staff development.
What You'll Do:
- Lead audits from planning to reporting across financial, operational, compliance, supplier, and dealer areas.
- Develop internal control design and ensure internal control effectiveness for SOX readiness and compliance.
- Build internal control audit matrices and incorporate them into the accounting organization’s control environment.
- Collaborate with all levels of the organization to develop audit findings and recommendations.
- Act as primary liaison with external internal audit consulting firm.
- Prepare high-quality audit work papers and clear, accurate audit reports.
- Analyze audit issues and assist in creating corrective action plans.
- Develop continuous monitoring processes and analyze data to identify trends and insights.
- Coach and develop staff, efficiently managing resources to achieve company goals.
- Perform special projects and investigations as needed.
- Facilitate cross-functional meetings to address significant audit findings and risks.
What You Will Bring to Coupa:
- Must hold a Master’s degree in Accounting, Economics or Finance
- Eight or more years of experience in public accounting, management consulting, internal audit, data analytics, or financial analysis.
- Three or more years of supervisory and/or project management experience.
- Knowledge of audit methods and analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
