SR. MANAGER, STARLINK LOCAL GROWTH (U.S.)

Starlink is a revolutionary satellite constellation delivering low-latency broadband internet around the world—bringing an unprecedented opportunity to significantly impact communities, businesses, and governments worldwide. In the United States, Starlink is rapidly expanding access to high-speed internet for rural, suburban, and underserved communities.

The Growth Team is seeking a Sr. Manager, Local Growth (US) to build and lead Starlink’s on-the-ground growth organization across the country. This role will be responsible for designing, hiring, and scaling a distributed team of regional and state-level growth leaders focused on driving consumer subscriber acquisition through partnerships, field marketing, local distribution, and community-driven initiatives. This leader will define Starlink’s local go-to-market strategy in the U.S.—owning how we launch, scale, and win markets at the state and regional level. The role requires building repeatable playbooks for local expansion while empowering teams to execute with speed and autonomy in highly varied rural and suburban environments. The ideal candidate is a highly entrepreneurial operator with deep experience building and scaling field-based growth, business development, or market expansion teams—particularly in consumer technology, telecommunications, marketplaces, or subscription-based businesses. This is a unique opportunity to build Starlink’s local growth engine from the ground up and directly accelerate broadband adoption across the United States.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Own Starlink’s U.S. local growth strategy, accountable for subscriber growth across states and regions
  • Build, hire, and lead a high-performing team of regional and state-level growth leaders
  • Design scalable playbooks for local market growth customer acquisition business models
  • Define priority markets across rural, suburban, and underserved communities
  • Establish and scale local acquisition channels including new partnerships (e.g., affiliates, local businesses)
  • Oversee field marketing, events, and grassroots growth initiatives
  • Drive partnerships from opportunity identification through execution
  • Develop partner pipeline unlocking scalable distribution
  • Track subscriber growth, partner productivity, and return-on-investment
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to align on go-to-market
  • Build feedback loops to inform product and pricing
  • Lead growth experimentation across markets
  • Represent Starlink externally with local channel partners and stakeholders

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 8+ years of experience in growth, business development, sales, marketing, consulting, or operations
  • 4+ years of direct people management experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • 12+ years of experience in growth, business development, sales, marketing, consulting, or operations
  • 5+ years building local, distributed teams starting from zero
  • Experience scaling local or regional growth teams (rideshare, marketplaces, telecom, etc.)
  • Experience working with consumer technology, telecommunications, broadband, utilities, or subscription-based services
  • Deep understanding of rural consumer acquisition
  • Track record building successful field-based teams
  • Experience building partnerships and distribution channels
  • Success launching products across multiple markets
  • Strong execution in ambiguous environments
  • Strong analytical and ROI tracking skills
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Entrepreneurial mindset

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be available to work extended hours and weekends as needed
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% - 75% or more of the time to customer locations and other SpaceX locations

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Sr. Manager, Local Growth $170,000.00 - $215,000.00/per year

And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
