Senior Manager Technical Business Operations  

Organization:  Digital – Infrastructure & Security  

Reporting to: Vice President of Infrastructure & Security 

 

Position Summary: 

Business Operations Senior Manager to the VP of Infrastructure and Security plays a pivotal role in the success of the broader IT organization. Acting as a strategic advisor, execution leader, and force multiplier, the Senior Manager - Business Operations helps translate vision into action by driving alignment, accelerating key initiatives, and enabling seamless operations across Infrastructure and Security. A key focus of this role is enabling the VP to build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with stakeholders across the company—as well as with internal and external customers. The Senior Manager – Business Operations ensures the VP's time and focus are optimized while fostering cross-functional collaboration, supporting data-driven decision-making, and ensuring that high-priority goals are executed with clarity and precision. The CoS is integral to building a high-performing, trusted, and resilient IT organization by providing structure, insight, and operational leverage. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

Strategic Planning & Execution 

  • Lead the development and tracking of strategic plans, OKRs, and key initiatives across Infrastructure and Security, ensuring alignment with broader IT and enterprise goals. 

  • Ensure priorities and outcomes are clearly defined, communicated, and integrated into the IT-wide strategy set by leadership. 
     
     

Operational Oversight 

  • Optimize and manage leadership rhythms (e.g., staff meetings, QBRs, initiative reviews) across Infrastructure, Security, and broader IT intersections. 

  • Own agendas, track action items, and ensure consistent follow-through to support leadership execution and organizational accountability. 
     
     

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Act as a strategic liaison between the VP and key stakeholders across Security, Engineering, IT, and the wider company. 

  • Support the VP in cultivating strong relationships with business partners and customer-facing teams to ensure technology strategy aligns with company-wide priorities. 
     
     

Program Management 

  • Lead high-priority initiatives and cross-functional programs that support the VP’s goals and broader IT transformation efforts. 

  • Remove blockers, identify dependencies, and ensure timely delivery of initiatives that contribute to company-wide and customer-impacting success. 

 

Communications & Messaging 

  • Develop internal and executive-facing communications that reflect the VP’s voice and align with IT and enterprise messaging. 

  • Craft clear, compelling updates for both internal and external audiences that convey infrastructure and security initiatives' value. 
     
     

Leadership Enablement 

  • Support team culture, leadership development, and performance planning across the Infrastructure and Security org. 

  • Collaborate on leadership offsites and IT-wide strategic planning sessions to drive cohesion and focus, while helping prepare the VP for high-impact engagements with company stakeholders and customers. 
     
     

Data-Driven Decision Support 

  • Partner with Finance, PMO, and Analytics teams to synthesize reporting that supports operational visibility and strategic decisions. 

  • Help identify trends, risks, and opportunities through data to guide IT-wide investment, service delivery, and relationship management. 

 

 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required. 

  • 6+ years of experience in technology operations, management consulting, or strategic program leadership (preferably in a global technology organization). 

  • Strong understanding of enterprise IT functions, including infrastructure, cybersecurity, digital platforms, and transformation initiatives. 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft and deliver executive-level messaging. 

  • Highly organized, analytical, and adept at managing multiple workstreams with competing priorities. 

  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships at all levels of the organization. 

 

 

Preferred Attributes: 

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree. 

  • Experience supporting a VP or C-level executive in a technology or cybersecurity setting. 

  • Familiarity with frameworks such as Agile, ITIL, or enterprise PMO standards. 

  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to navigate sensitive situations with discretion and diplomacy. 

  • A strategic mindset with a bias toward action and continuous improvement.

The annual base pay for this position is: $154,808.00 - $232,212.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
