We believe that mental health is just as important as physical health. We recognize that mental health issues can be complex and multifaceted, and we are dedicated to treating the whole person, not just the symptoms.

We aim to create a world where mental health is no longer stigmatized or marginalized, but rather is embraced as an integral part of one's overall well-being.

We believe that by providing quality care that is both evidence-based and compassionate, we can empower individuals to take charge of their mental health and achieve their full potential. We are passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of those struggling with mental health issues and we strive to be a force for positive change in the field of mental healthcare.

Rula is a remote-first company. We currently hire in most U.S. states, with the exception of Hawaii.

About the Role

This role will be the analytical engine behind how Rula understands, monitors, and improves its billing and account experience, financial performance and customer service. As an individual contributor, you will work closely with partners across Finance, Billing, Product, Data, Customer Service, and Operations, bringing well-rounded business acumen to investigate complex account questions, uncover root causes, and turn messy data into clear, actionable insights.

Day to day, you’ll dig into billing workflows, identify where things break down, and help teams make informed conclusions that improve accuracy, reduce friction, and support sustainable growth. This role sits within the Analytics organization and plays a critical part in helping Rula deliver a reliable, trustworthy financial experience for members, providers, and partners.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of related professional experience in analytics or data science-focused role, with 2+ years of experience focusing on financial analytics and/or firm-level operations analysis

  • Demonstrated ability to work with non-technical cross-functional stakeholders

  • Deep understanding of financial metrics (e.g., CAC, billing, key accounts, retention, churn, LTV, etc.) and operational metrics (e.g. resolution time, product uptime) and experience translating data into actionable insights

  • Expert-level proficiency in Python and/or SQL, as well as familiarity with data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, Hex, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications

While having the preferred qualifications enhances your candidacy, having all of them is not mandatory. We encourage all interested applicants to apply, even those who may not meet every preferred requirement.

  • Experience within a fast-paced, high-growth startup environment with the ability to handle dynamic and shifting analytical priorities

  • Expertise proposing and executing operational efficiency experimentation

  • Prior experience in healthcare, marketplace or financial services operations

  • Ability to connect analytics insights to business strategy, influencing financial and operational decisions that drive profitable growth

We're serious about your well-being! As part of our team, full-time employees receive:

  • 100% remote work environment: Working hours to support a healthy work-life balance, ensuring you can meet both professional and personal commitments (must be based in United States, currently not hiring in Hawaii)

  • Attractive pay and benefits: Full transparency of pay ranges regardless of where you live in the United States

  • Comprehensive health benefits: Medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and FSA/HSA

  • 401(k) plan access: Start saving for your future

  • Generous time-off policies: Including 2 company-wide shutdown weeks each year for self-care (for most employees)

  • Paid parental leave: Available for all parents, including birthing, non-birthing, adopting, and fostering

  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP): Supporting your mental and physical health

  • Quarterly department stipend: Fun team-building activities or in-person gatherings

  • Community and employee resource groups: Participate in groups that celebrate employee identity and lived experiences, fostering a sense of community and belonging for all

  • Home office stipend: New hire home office stipend & $50 monthly stipend to help cover internet or cell phone expenses

  • Wellness at Rula program: Year-round wellness initiatives and a $50/month wellness stipend

Our team

We believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are fundamental to our mission of making mental healthcare work for everyone.  We are dedicated to having a culture of inclusion that will support our employees in feeling safe, seen, heard, and valued.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
