Position:  Sr. Principal Contract Compliance and Risk 

Location: Mercer Island (WA), or Denver (CO), or Arlington (VA) 

Position Overview 

Fleet is seeking an experienced Sr. Principal of Contract Compliance and Risk to accelerate Fleet’s internal insurance program as well as setting up the contract risk compliance program across Fleet’s vendor base.   

Job Responsibilities 

The successful candidate will have experience and practical expertise in the following:  

  • Insurance project management including establishing claims administration function
  • Overall Fleet Data Center enterprise risk management relative to Fleet Data Center vendor partnerships (engineering, construction, commissioning, and equipment vendor risk oversight and compliance).   

Education, Professional Certification, and Licenses  

  • 8+ years of experience as a construction risk manager; construction project manager; construction attorney or paralegal, and/or construction insurance professional. Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., JD, CPCU, ARM) is preferred. 
  • 5 years of data center experience. 

Experience:  

  • Insurance Project Management: work closely with insurance brokers and legal teams to support the management and renewal of Fleet’s insurance coverage and leadership team recommendation(s).   
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with insurance brokers and underwriters to ensure effective and efficient insurance placements. 
  • Lead and manage the global subsidiary portfolio of insurance, including traditional insurance lines such as property, excess liability, and procuring Bonds and Surety, as applicable.  Ensure strong builder's risk insurance coverage to protect our construction and development projects. 
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with insurance brokers and underwriters to ensure effective and efficient insurance placements. 
  • Provide expert advice and guidance to senior management on insurance and risk management matters.  Prepare and present reports on insurance and risk management activities to the executive team. 
  • Enterprise Risk Management (Compliance):  
  • Works with leadership team including Fleet’s General Counsel to establish vendor (e.g., general contractor(s), contractor(s), subcontractor(s), and design/engineering vendor agreements) compliance with applicable state specific statutes. 
  • Manage vendor insurance requirements. 
  • Setting up vendor requirements across supply chain include validation of risk requirements (including insurance requirements), repository for risk reporting (including certificates of insurance), and auditing risk requirements to standardize and scale contractual risk requirements and post-award administration.   

Travel and Schedule: 10% travel 

Expected Salary Range:  $180,000-$225,000 (base salary) plus bonus
