Senior Product Manager | Acorns

Acorns is seeking a strategic, customer-obsessed Senior Product Manager to drive new subscriber growth. This role will own the Onboarding experience for new customers, delivering both innovative and incremental solutions to help everyday Americans get set up to save and invest. You will focus on rapid experimentation, conversion rate optimization, subscription monetization, and partner with Growth Marketing to scale acquisition volume.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, brings a deep understanding of customer psychology to every decision, and has a strong foundation in data analytics and behavioral economics. You will be responsible for establishing the first impression with customers, developing a relationship of trust and guidance, and effectively delivering value as soon as possible, inspiring them to become lasting paid subscribers.

About the Team:

Product Managers own the roadmap, ensuring clarity and collaboration across design, engineering, marketing, and operations. They uphold high standards, simplify complexity, and inspire the team to achieve ambitious goals with a shared belief in our mission.

Acorns is a remote-first organization, offering the flexibility to work remotely while providing optional access to office spaces in Irvine, CA.

What you will do at Acorns:
  • Own the new customer onboarding roadmap – from visitor to paid subscriber, identifying and executing a mix of big bets and iterative optimizations across registration, pricing, product activation, and billing

  • Run rapid experimentation loops and A/B tests that improve conversion rates, reduce friction, and drive incremental subscriber growth

  • Champion a customer-first mindset and integrate behavioral economics and emotional drivers into product design and decision-making

  • Leverage customer insights, research, and behavioral data to inform product decisions with empathy and precision

  • Partner closely with Growth Marketing to align on growth strategy, customer segmentation, campaign targeting, and shared KPIs

  • Collaborate with Finance to model business impact, estimate opportunity sizes, and track performance against company goals

  • Work closely with Analytics to uncover growth opportunities, design experiments, and interpret results

  • Build strong relationships cross-functionally with engineering, design, legal, compliance, and marketing to drive initiatives from concept to launch with speed and accountability

What you will bring to Acorns:
  • 3+ years of experience in product management, ideally in growth, conversion, or monetization roles

  • Strong background in funnel optimization, A/B testing, and growth experimentation

  • Deep customer empathy and experience applying behavioral economics or psychology principles in product work

  • Proven ability to move fast, manage ambiguity, and prioritize for impact in a cross-functional environment

  • Data-driven decision-maker with experience working with both analytics and finance teams to model business outcomes

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills; comfortable influencing across Marketing, Design, Engineering, and Executive stakeholders

  • Fintech experience is a plus, but not required—more important is a track record of driving growth and monetization in consumer-facing products

  • A hunger to build impactful products and help everyday people take control of their financial lives

You are not expected to have experience with all listed requirements. If you feel passionate about Acorns' mission, vision, and values, please apply.

What we offer:

  • Competitive salary and stock options

  • A comprehensive benefits package for you and your family

  • Flexible work location, hours, and paid time off

  • 401(k) matching

  • Monthly Acorns account contribution & GoHenry account for your family

  • Mindfulness and Financial Wellness resources, Headspace and Addition Wealth

  • Acorns Career Development Program (Ongoing training sessions, development plans, development check-ins, Cornerstone’s online training platform)

  • Roots Leadership Program for Emerging Leaders

  • Community week onsite gatherings and various virtual events

  • Talented and motivated team members who care deeply about one another, our mission, and our customers.

  • The rare opportunity to create a new world. We inspire one another every day to do meaningful work that solves big societal challenges.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
