THE HIGH 

Iron Bow Technologies has an immediate need for an experienced Project Manager interested in a remote opportunity!

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

The Iron Bow Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, direction and coordination of all activities of within two technology pillars of a large federal government program. The Project Manager will ensure that program goals and objectives including scope, schedule, and budget, and quality outcomes are accomplished as defined within the executed Statement of Work and/or Customer Contract. In this role, the project manager will primarily support Department of Veterans Affairs IT initiates.

We’re looking for a Project Manager who will manage and oversee large projects within a matrixed environment. The Project Manager will be a hands on contributor and leader to plan, direct and coordinate all activities of within two technology pillars of a large federal government IT program. The successful candidate must have experience with supporting and deploying multiple simultaneous technology projects in a large health enterprise or federal government agency.

Technical familiarity and ability to understand, translate, and oversee advanced engineering services and tasks in one or multiple of the following technology areas is strongly preferred: Collaboration, Networking, Wireless, Security, Data Center. Strong knowledge and experience in relevant Cisco technologies and support environments is strongly preferred. Proven experience leading and managing high level engineers providing services within complex customer IT environments is required.

The Project Manager must have experience driving the execution of technically complex IT solutions. The Project Manager must understand the importance of IT as it relates to their customers and be driven to achieve Program initiatives within a very dynamic customer environment. This team member must be proficient in overall project coordination and task delegation. This role must be able to present to senior government executives and be able to demonstrate presentation skills during the interview process. High attention to detail and extensive writing skills are required, as effective communication is critical within this role.

What You Will Do:

  • Understand the customer’s culture and requirements and works to establish a strong rapport with the customer’s representatives
  •  Provide project management leadership and direction by integrating internal, subcontract, and customer staff into cohesive team structures
  • Effectively manage multiple concurrent small, medium, and large projects
  • Maintain a schedule of contract deliverables, meetings, and service level agreements
  • Provide project status reports, monitor, and track entire project lifecycle, leverage MS Project reporting tools and be accountable for overall project success. This includes full financial assessment and responsibility of project profitability.
  • Assess client business and technical objectives, determine deliverables, evaluate risk and execute projects.
  • Understand and apply the Iron Bow PM Methodology processes and procedures
  • Understand and abide by the Iron Bow ISO 9001 policies and procedures
  • Some travel may be expected as well as an expectation of afterhours work, as needed, for implementation deployment tasks, cutover tasks, etc.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintains program and contractual documentation in a centralized program repository

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE

  • 10-12 years in a related technical environment and at least two years prior related technical project management experience
  • 5+ years applicable leadership/ people management experience
  • Significant experience with Veterans Administration technology environment is highly desired
  • Bachelor’s Degree highly desired
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust security clearance, existing clearance highly desired
  • Exceptional customer service skills including verbal and written communications skills
  • Strong organization, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced and matrixed operational environment
  • Strong preference for PMP and/or relevant other PMI certifications
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Working knowledge of Excel a must. Working knowledge of Microsoft Project preferred.
  • Ability to prioritize requirements and meet deadlines
  • Ability to balance a large volume workload
  • Ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work independently in a matrixed team environment
  • Must possess strong attention to detail
  • Must be able to utilize technology effectively and work remotely with minimal supervision

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Position is remote with approximately 10% travel requirement.
