If you are ready to scale your work, read on!
As a Contract Senior Salesforce Developer at Scaled Agile, you will be a key member of a high-performing, Agile engineering team responsible for building and maintaining our Salesforce platform and the integrations that connect it to the rest of our business. This includes the customer-facing Community built on Experience Cloud, Sales Cloud, the managed LMS package that powers our learning and certification programs, and the Salesforce APIs that power Studio, our React-based learning platform. Salesforce sits at the center of a heavily integrated environment, exchanging data with our payment, credentialing, exam, tax, and finance systems as well as our internal services platform. You will own complex Apex, design and harden integrations, and bring strong engineering practices to a platform with high data volumes and direct customer impact.
What you’ll be doing:
Design, build, and maintain Apex (triggers, batch and queueable jobs, invocable actions, REST services) and Lightning Web Components that implement certification, renewal, fulfillment, and licensing business logic.
Build and operate integrations with external systems using named and external credentials, REST callouts, platform events, and Salesforce-exposed REST APIs, spanning payments and subscriptions, license provisioning, credentialing, exams, tax, and finance.
Own the Salesforce-exposed APIs consumed by our customer-facing applications and internal services.
Diagnose and resolve production issues across the stack: governor and SOQL limits, trigger recursion, managed package exceptions, failed order fulfillment, and data mismatches between systems.
Ship changes through our version-controlled CI/CD pipeline (SF CLI, GitHub, Copado) with Apex unit test coverage rather than configuring production directly, and help mature our release tooling.
Maintain secrets and security hygiene: credential rotation, secret storage, connected app and permission set reviews, and remediation of secret scanning and audit findings.
Build scalable batch and data management solutions for large volumes (hundreds of thousands of user and learning records): deactivation, archival, deduplication, user merge, and storage reduction.
Partner with product, support, finance, and the full-stack and infrastructure engineers on your team to scope work, run technical spikes, estimate, and write clear designs and acceptance criteria.
Use AI assistants to accelerate development, impact analysis, test generation, and issue investigation.
Stay current with Salesforce releases and assess their impact on our codebase and integrations.
- 5+ years of Salesforce development experience, including Apex, SOQL, Lightning Web Components, and Flow on Sales Cloud and Experience Cloud.
Proven experience designing and operating integrations between Salesforce and external systems: REST and JSON, OAuth, named and external credentials, webhooks and platform events, retry and error handling.
Hands-on experience integrating with a payment or subscription platform; Stripe strongly preferred.
Deep understanding of governor limits, bulkification, asynchronous Apex (Batch, Queueable, Scheduled, Future), and trigger frameworks.
Experience working inside large managed packages, including version upgrades and troubleshooting package behavior you cannot modify.
Experience with version-controlled deployments (SF CLI, Git, CI/CD) and Apex unit testing.
Strong production troubleshooting skills with large data volumes.
Hands-on experience using AI assistants in technical work.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to document technical designs clearly and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Understanding of Agile principles and practices, with a strong desire to work in a fully Agile team.
Nice to Have:
Copado or similar Salesforce DevOps tooling
Platform Developer I or II, System Architect, or Application Architect certification
Experience with a Salesforce-native LMS package
Experience with Node.js or TypeScript backend services
Exposure to Stripe, OwnBackup, Avalara, Credly, NetSuite, or Marketo
