About Salesforce

Salesforce is the #1 AI CRM, where humans with agents drive customer success together. Here, ambition meets action. Tech meets trust. And innovation isn’t a buzzword — it’s a way of life. The world of work as we know it is changing and we're looking for Trailblazers who are passionate about bettering business and the world through AI, driving innovation, and keeping Salesforce's core values at the heart of it all.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You’re in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

Slack is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to design and deliver end-to-end features while advancing the performance, reliability, and scalability of Huddles—Slack’s video conferencing experience and one of our most heavily used products.
We’re looking for engineers who are passionate about building exceptional, real-time web applications at global scale.
Our systems are built on proven, production-hardened technologies the team knows and trusts, including PHP/Hack, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, MySQL, Redis, and Linux. We also support native clients across iOS, Android, Windows, and macOS. Experience with additional languages (e.g., Java, Kotlin, Objective-C) and distributed systems is a strong plus.
We are a deeply collaborative team working across product, design, backend, and client platforms to continuously improve Slack and Huddles. We value engineers who are pragmatic in their technology choices, thoughtful in system design, and who balance simplicity, reliability, and long-term maintainability in everything they build.
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Huddles team owns Slack’s video conferencing experience, serving 4.8M+ weekly active users. We compete directly with industry leaders like Google Meet and Zoom—yet we’re still early in shaping the future of synchronous collaboration inside Slack.
We’re driving an ambitious roadmap that includes:

  • AI-powered meeting experiences
  • Expanded real-time collaboration capabilities
  • Richer, more immersive communication features

As part of this team, you’ll also contribute to a specialized group advancing Slack’s audio/video platform, supporting both Huddles and Clips. This dual focus blends cutting-edge A/V infrastructure with robust, user-centric frontend architecture to deliver seamless end-to-end experiences.
If you’re excited about building high-impact features used by millions daily—and redefining remote collaboration in a digital-first workplace—we’d love to meet you.
What you will be doing

  • Partner with Product Managers and Designers to ideate, build, and launch new features across Huddles and Clips
  • Design and implement end-to-end solutions spanning frontend, backend, and real-time communication layers
  • Debug and optimize audio/video performance across diverse devices, browsers, and network conditions using WebRTC and related technologies
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in real-time systems, from React/Redux rendering to backend infrastructure
  • Establish high engineering standards through code quality, system design, and reusable architectural patterns
  • Improve observability by building monitoring, logging, and performance instrumentation for A/V systems
  • Support production excellence by partnering with Customer Experience teams to triage and resolve issues
  • Mentor engineers and provide thoughtful, in-depth code reviews

What you should have

  • 7+ years of professional experience building and shipping web applications
  • Strong proficiency in React and Redux, including frontend performance optimization
  • Experience with one or more backend languages (e.g., PHP, Python, Ruby, Go, Java, C)
  • Expertise in building complex, high-fidelity UI with HTML and CSS
  • Deep understanding of real-time or distributed systems, including fault tolerance, consistency, and scalability
  • Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, systems design)
  • Experience working with relational databases and common web stacks
  • Product mindset with strong UX sensibilities and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills, empathy, and collaborative instincts
  • Growth mindset with a commitment to continuous improvement

Bonus Points

  • Strong understanding of network and security protocols related to real-time A/V streaming
  • Experience optimizing Electron applications for cross-platform performance
  • Contributions to open-source WebRTC or real-time communication projects
  • Knowledge of audio/video codecs and asynchronous media systems (recordings, playback)
  • Experience building or maintaining test frameworks for real-time/A-V products
  • Hands-on experience with WebRTC platforms or SDKs (e.g., AWS Chime, Twilio, Jitsi, Mediasoup)
  • Background in monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Datadog, Grafana, Splunk)
  • Experience building real-time messaging, notification, or event-driven systems

Slack fosters a positive, diverse, and supportive culture. We look for people who are curious, inventive, and committed to getting a little better every day. We aim to be smart, humble, hardworking—and above all—collaborative.

If this sounds like a team where you’d thrive, we’d love to hear from you.
