Generative AI is reshaping every company with its advanced capabilities in both conversation and coding, all through natural language. The Databricks Data Intelligence (DI) Platform is at the forefront of this shift, offering a data-centric approach to building generative AI applications. Our platform uniquely enables customers to build high-quality GenAI applications, streamlining the AI lifecycle from data ingestion to deployment and supporting every GenAI architectural pattern, including prompt engineering, RAGs, fine-tuning, and pre-training.

As member of the technical marketing team, the Technical Marketing Engineer at Databricks reporting to the Director of Technical Marketing will be responsible for creating and building technical GenAI solutions on the Databricks Data Intelligence Platform.  

You will take ownership of all GenAI-related technical marketing materials and work cross-functionally with product management, R&D, field engineering, and product marketing to deliver technically oriented deliverables that showcase several popular data and AI technologies within the Databricks Platform from Model Serving, Vector Search, MosaicML and MLflow. 

You will contribute to all aspects of technical marketing by creating reference/solutions architectures, technical product demos, tutorials, and product guides, support GTM activities and promote Databricks products and solutions through social media, industry and tech events. You will help communicate through multiple channels how organizations can succeed with Databricks through data and ML practitioners' lifecycles from discovery to adoption.

The impact you will have:

  • Develop impactful GenAI demos and technical solutions tailored to solve real customer problems using AI, spanning prompt engineering, RAGs, pre-training, and fine-tuning
  • Author technical blogs and content that improve the ability for customers to see, evaluate, and try the Databricks Platform
  • Partner with Product Marketing, Product Management, and Product Specialists to supplement demos with reference architectures, technical know-how documents, and enablement that make it simple for the Field Engineering organization to demonstrate Databricks
  • Support product launch activities and assist with trade shows, conferences, and technical sales training
  • Respond to customer, field, and analyst inquiries regarding how Databricks technology works

What we look for:

  • 5+ years of technical marketing experience (or related experience in product management, solutions architect) in an enterprise-focused B2B technology company
  • Experience in prompt engineering, RAGs, fine-tuning, and pre-training is required; familiarity with MosaicML
  • Experience writing code in either Python, R,  Scala or Java
  • Experience working with open source and/or Databricks AI solutions 
  • Capability to create content and manage multiple content initiatives
  • Guide with an entrepreneurial drive and understanding of urgency.
  • Experience communicating updates and resolutions to customers and other partners

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents base salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks utilizes the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above. $127,200$225,000 USD

Zone 2 Pay Range

$114,500$202,500 USD

Zone 3 Pay Range

$108,100$191,200 USD

Zone 4 Pay Range

$101,700$180,000 USD
