The Role
Moderna is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive project and program management of network and infrastructure improvement initiatives at Moderna globally. We’re looking for someone with a high level of integrity and personal accountability, strong interpersonal skills, and infrastructure technology domain expertise. 

Here’s What You’ll Do

  • Program Management – take a structured, data-driven, and risk-based approach to program scoping, execution, and reporting

  • Kick off and successfully manage multiple, simultaneous, complex, high visibility workstreams with full ownership, effective collaboration, and good process

  • Build processes, templates, and structure, or leverage existing ones as appropriate

  • Manage vendors, schedule, scope, and cost

  • Measure program success (or lack thereof) and risks using data and facts

  • Provide balanced risk remediation strategies and recommendations and drive risk mitigation

  • Develop and maintain close stakeholder relationships and build influence to drive the appropriate outcomes across Moderna

  • Provide clear, accurate, consistent, and timely communications

  • Advance good infrastructure and security practices and culture

  • Network and infrastructure improvements – work with Network Engineering as well as Network Security, Cloud, Compute and Storage, Identity and Access Management, IT, Cybersecurity, and business stakeholders to manage and drive improvement projects in a structured and predictable manner

  • Lead and drive network service management improvements and process optimization initiatives, including network patch and vulnerability management.

  • Manage multiple initiatives in 2025/26:

  • Oversee the complete overhaul of Moderna’s wireless network infrastructure, ensuring modernized, scalable, and secure solutions.

  • Migration to a new on-call management model to improve coverage and response efficiency.

  • Standardize network monitoring and alerting systems across global infrastructure.

  • Rationalize network inventory to improve asset visibility and lifecycle management.

  • Support Compute and Storage initiatives as needed, ensuring alignment with broader infrastructure goals.

  • Actively contribute to creating a more inclusive culture and environment at Moderna; endorse, create, and maintain antiracist policies and processes

Here’s What You’ll Need (minimum qualifications)

  • 8+ years of program management experience, preferably in network engineering

  • Demonstrated technical depth, problem-solving capabilities, and stakeholder and vendor management skills

  • Technical background in network engineering, with a strong understanding of ITSM and Agile methodologies.

  • Experience in running programs within a cross-functional, global team of mixed engineering, architecture, and operations.

  • Ability to successfully scope and drive complex and multi-workstream programs in a structured, risk-considerate, data-driven fashion

Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)

  • Hands-on experience with network technologies, including WAN, LAN, WLAN, firewalls, NAC, AAA, network monitoring, etc.

  • Influential, inclusive, and trusted partner compassionate to the needs and situations of all your stakeholders

  • Deep familiarity with ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL) and Agile methodologies (Kanban, Scrum) to manage complex network and infrastructure programs.

  • Experience driving structured, process-driven network transformation initiatives.

  • Ability to facilitate and manage Kanban workflows for engineering teams.

  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards relevant to network infrastructure operations.

  • Strong listener with the ability to deeply understand, ask the right questions, and proactively pursue constructive feedback

  • Embrace a culture of continuous service improvement and service excellence

  • A desire to make an impact as part of a high-growth, transformational company

  • Experience with GxP environments and regulatory requirements

Under Washington State law, Moderna is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for the jobs covered by this description. Base compensation for these positions in Washington State range from $129,600.00 - $207,500.00. Actual salary determinations will take into account factors such as work location, prior education and experience, job-related knowledge, and demonstrated skills. Compensation decisions are made on the facts and circumstances of each case. In addition to base compensation Moderna employees are eligible for a comprehensive incentive compensation package including an annual cash bonus, new hire equity and an annual refresh, 401(k) match, competitive and inclusive medical, dental, and vision coverage options, flexible spending accounts for medical and dependent care, Life, LTD, and STD insurance, paid family leave offerings, including at least 18 weeks of 100% paid parental leave, lifestyle spending account, adoption, surrogacy, and family-planning benefits, generous paid time off, including: • Vacation, sick time, and observed Company-wide holidays • Paid volunteer time to participate within your community • Discretionary winter holiday shut down • Paid 4-week sabbatical after 5 years, and every 3 years after.
