This Staff Accountant role supports our Senior Accountant and Controller-level team with day-to-day accounting needs. Some typical tasks include reconciling a client's accounts receivable, coding credit card transactions, and capturing payroll entries for the previous month. This is a fast-paced and dynamic position that involves a high level of cross-functional interaction with our entire team. You would work closely with our accounting, payroll, accounts receivable, and accounts payable team members. The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of accounting experience, and is eager to continue learning under the wing of a more seasoned staff member. This role serves as a stepping stone before reaching the level of Senior Accountant, where larger accounting projects are handled directly with the client.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare invoices and apply payments
  • Reconcile A/R & A/P discrepancies 
  • Other accounting duties/tasks/projects assigned as needed including reconciling bank accounts, fixed asset schedules, convertible notes, equity accounts, etc.
  • Problem-solving and contributing to the success of the team
  • Investigate and respond to client inquiries, concerns, and issues via phone and e-mail in a timely and courteous manner

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in accounting is preferred
  • Minimum 2-4 years of experience performing similar job functions
  • Experience with QuickBooks & Xero and other accounting software is a plus
  • Proficiency in Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, and Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and multitask with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to manage priorities and workflow
  • Good written and verbal communications skills are a must, with an emphasis on clear and sensitive responses to client inquiries and escalations
  • Strong desire to tackle new challenges and projects with enthusiasm
  • Must be highly motivated, responsible, detail-oriented, and results-driven
