Your Role

You will be responsible for month-end close activities, financial analysis, accounts payable, and the development of accounting policies (e.g., capitalized software), while contributing to the continuous evolution of our accounting function. You will play a critical part in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations across multiple key areas, including expenses, fixed assets, cash management, credit cards, and travel & entertainment. This role demands a high degree of ownership and the ability to work independently while collaborating cross-functionally to support business objectives and improve processes.

This is an individual contributor position reporting directly to the Director of Accounting, working closely with the broader finance and accounting team in a remote-first environment. We're looking for a proactive and detail-oriented professional eager to grow and drive impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and execute month-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and preparation of close reports and schedules.
  • Perform variance analysis, investigate discrepancies, and deliver insights that support decision-making.
  • Own vendor relationships and oversee invoice processing and timely payments through Zip.
  • Prepare audit-ready documentation and act as a key point of contact for external auditors (Big 4).
  • Partner with FP&A and business stakeholders to manage accruals and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process improvements with an eye on scalability and control.
  • Play a lead role in the development and rollout of new accounting policies and procedures, including capitalization of software costs.
  • Drive ad hoc projects, system enhancements, and process transformation initiatives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field. A professional certification (e.g. CPA) is highly preferred.
  • 3–5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in SaaS, technology, or a high-growth company.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with high attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Proven ability to work independently, prioritize effectively, and adapt to evolving business needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence across functions and levels.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and excited to contribute to a collaborative and growth-oriented team.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and financial modeling).
  • Experience with NetSuite is preferred; familiarity with systems like Zip is a plus.
  • Big 4/Public Accounting experience is a plus.
