Lead cross-product discovery and define Felix’s conversational, generative, and declarative UI platform. Research user behavior, establish design patterns, prototype and ship the initial WhatsApp experience, then expand patterns to iOS and Android. Collaborate with product squads and engineers, guide conversation design, integrate compliance disclosures and consent, and influence product direction through user research, analytics, critique, and hands-on design execution.

You define how Félix designs with generative and declarative UI, and you do it while shipping the first version of the platform. Not in the abstract. On WhatsApp, with real products and real money, then across native iOS and Android as the platform expands to multiple surfaces.
Credit, Core Send, Payments, Geos, and Activations each have a PM and a designer. You lead the work that cuts across them: what a user wants when they open Félix, how products show up in the thread and when they shouldn't, how a first send becomes a second and then credit, what the assistant does versus asks. Squad designers own their products. You shape the conversation they build in.
The medium is the job. We’re aiming for a declarative UI on WhatsApp, structured components that render in. A growing share is generative, where the model chooses what to show and say in real time across surfaces. We don't have the rules for either yet. You'll write them, test them, and ship them.
It's hands-on at the staff level. You research, prototype, present, and generate the volume of concepts it takes to find the right answer, working with PMs across squads and the engineers building the runtime. Async-first, lightweight process, fast decisions. The Head of Product Design stays close to the work.
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery across products. Own the questions no single squad owns: why users stop after a first send, where the conversation loses them. Talk to users, read transcripts, pull analytics, and make the findings hard to ignore.
- Define how we design with generative and declarative UI. What the model can compose, what stays fixed, how it recovers from a wrong guess. Set the patterns while shipping v1, then harden them.
- Ship v1 on WhatsApp. Applied use cases first, with the squads. Then define what the patterns become on native iOS and Android.
- Set direction for the conversation. How products coexist in one thread, how context carries, and how users always know what Félix is doing with their money.
- Land it with squad designers. Bring the direction into Credit, Core Send, Activations, and the others. Critique in the medium. Adjust when their constraints teach you something.
- Treat compliance as design material. Disclosures and consent live in the conversation. Design them with legal and risk, as part of the experience.
Requirements
- 8+ years designing consumer products with a high bar for craft, including two years leading design on a conversational or AI-native product.
- A track record of leading discovery across product teams and turning it into direction they adopted. You can point to research that changed what got built.
- Hands-on experience with declarative UI: components as structured specs that engineers instantiate, not screens they copy. Bonus if you’ve worked with generative UI (json-render.dev, A2UI): the constraints, defaults, and recovery paths for interfaces a model assembles at runtime.
- Range from pixel to strategy. You solve the component, reframe the pattern, and defend the tradeoff to non-designers.
- Deep Figma fluency and comfort prototyping in code. At least two mobile products shipped end to end.
- Fluency with AI as a creative partner (Cursor, Claude Code, Claude Design, Codex) used to amplify craft, not shortcut it.
- A high tolerance for constraint: legal, risk, model behavior, and failure states you don't get to design away.
- You share work before it's polished and invite critique early.
- A portfolio link (with password, if needed) is required. It should include at least one conversational or generative UI project with your reasoning visible.
- Communication skills: Native or near-native Spanish and advanced English. Our users speak Spanish; so do we.
- Bonus: experience in fintech or another regulated domain, or with WhatsApp Business Platform or similar messaging surfaces.
These are the applicable requisites, although equivalent competencies in any of the above will also be considered.
