Own Temporal’s Nexus product strategy and roadmap for agent connectivity. Identify customer and market opportunities, prioritize platform capabilities, guide engineering and design, and drive discovery, execution, launches, sales enablement, and adoption metrics. The role requires strong technical depth in distributed systems, APIs, SDKs, identity, authorization, infrastructure, and developer platforms, plus close collaboration with founders, customers, engineering, sales, and marketing.

Role Summary

We're at an inflection point. We started with core durable execution and are now evolving with the world as it transitions to AI. What it takes to get from where we are today to a world where Temporal underpins all software – including and especially agents – is going to be different. It will require unprecedented speed, iteration, market and customer focus, and invention.
As an Agent Connectivity PM, you’ll help the world makes its transition to AI on Temporal. Without any effort, the market has already identified Temporal as a good substrate for agent workloads. But what makes agents powerful is connecting them to services and data. We are in the infancy of building out our connectivity layer, called Nexus, which has been the brainchild of our founder, Maxim, for many years. We now need to realize the full vision of Nexus by continuing to build out foundational capabilities like xyz and importantly, building agent-specific features and integrations, e.g., MCP connector, tool registry. You’ll identify the highest leverage areas for us to invest, and work closely with the founder/CTO and engineering team to get them to market.

What You’ll Do
  • Deeply understand problems faced by agent builders and identify opportunities where our products can make building agents faster, more intuitive, more reliable, and more powerful.

  • Define and build what’s next for Temporal. Own strategy and roadmap for agent connectivity. Turn ambiguous signals into clear product theses. How should we prioritize new capabilities like identity propagation or rate limits? How do we bootstrap an ecosystem of connectors?

  • Perform up-front discovery and translate customer, field, and open-source community signals into small tweaks, brand new abstractions, or platform bets.

  • Help engineers and designers deeply understand user needs, empowering them to make great product decisions.

  • Craft messaging around upcoming features that resonates with users.

  • Enable sales and marketing teams to effectively communicate with and win customers.

  • Strong technical depth. Ability to reason about distributed systems, workflow orchestration, service-to-service communication, APIs, SDKs, identity, and authorization.

  • Developer-platform experience. Experience with infrastructure, platforms, integrations, APIs, SDKs, service mesh, API gateways, or cloud developer products.

You’ll build new things with a massive tailwind behind you: a proven technology, a large and growing customer base, and a market moving toward problems Temporal is uniquely equipped to solve. The opportunity is to turn that momentum into what comes next—not simply scale what already works. You’ll be expected to move fast, work across boundaries, and do what it takes to make it happen.

Who You Are
  • You're ambitious. You want to win big. You don’t need someone else to set the pace. You get impatient when good ideas stay in slide decks, Slack, or meetings.

  • You're an owner. You are accountable to results over the process. You’re less focused on your swim lane and more focused on making the company successful. You have exceptional product and operational judgement.

  • You're resilient. Building at a high-growth company in 2026 is not for the faint of heart. You see the challenges and change as not just normal, but actually desirable.

  • You want to grow, and help others grow. You self-reflect often. You give feedback, and you seek it out. You have shameless curiosity and a propensity to question things deeply.

  • You prioritize the customer above all else. You want to understand our users' world and prioritize solving their problems above everything else.

What you’ll Bring
  • You have 8+ years of product management experience

  • You have technical depth, with experience working on platform, infrastructure, developer tools, or other technical products

  • You have worked at a startup, high-growth company or in a similarly intense and ambiguous environment

What You’ll Own
  • Nexus product strategy and roadmap. Prioritize the work that makes Nexus the durable connectivity layer across teams, namespaces, services, and AI systems.

  • Current execution. Drive completion of in-flight work such as the new Nexus developer experience, Standalone Nexus Operations, connector foundations, caller identity, rate limits, and payload encryption.

  • Customer discovery and evidence. Stay close to design partners and strategic customers like Netflix, Duolingo, and Miro.

  • Developer and operator experience. Balance SDK ergonomics, schema-first contracts, codegen, service discovery, security, visibility, and control-plane needs.

  • Cross-functional launch and enablement. Make sure everyone in the company understands the problems Nexus solves and knows how to sell / deploy / support it.

  • Success metrics. Define adoption and momentum measures: activated accounts, completed Nexus operations, shared-service usage, SDK coverage, design-partner progress, and field readiness.

Why This Role Matters
  • Nexus is past GA and entering breadth. Adoption is real, but the next challenge is expansion across more teams, accounts, and use cases.

  • The foundation is landing now. Developer experience, connector foundations, and operator controls are the near-term unlocks.

  • The next wave is strategically important. Connector Ecosystem, Service Hub, and Agentic Communication Fabric could define how Temporal participates in the modern AI and service-connectivity stack.

  • You’ll shape an important product category. Nexus sits between durable execution, service-to-service communication, platform engineering, and AI systems.

Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
