ABOUT OUR COMPANY:
The crushing weight of debt is something that we believe holds people back from reaching their dreams and making a splash in the world. So in 2013, after seeing our friends and family struggle with student loans, we created Splash Financial.

Over the years, our mission has expanded to include helping people with other forms of debt - such as refinancing credit cards, which are at all time highs in the US. And we’ve been able to refinance $6+ Billion in loans through our network of Splash, powered credit union and bank partners who leverage our marketplace and automated loan processing technology. And we’ve raised over $135 million from investors like partners of DST Global, Citi Ventures, TruStage Ventures, Northwestern Mutual Future Ventures, Detroit Venture Partners, and more.

But at our core, we’re still that little company from Cleveland with a big dream: to make people more powerful than their debt and we’re just getting started..

ABOUT OUR WORKPLACE:

Splash is remote-first, and proud of it.

We spend our days simplifying financial products and getting them into the hands of people who need them most. Right now, we’re focused on building financial technologies that fundamentally transform how the industry lends.

Although Splash has been around since 2013, we still operate like a startup — fast-paced, nimble, and full of heart. We’re good people who care deeply about doing meaningful work and we approach challenges with creativity, passion, and urgency.

And to hire the best, we provide the best: great health insurance, competitive salaries, and unique benefits like quarterly meet-ups and access to engagement tools that keep us connected — even from afar.

At Splash, everything we do is guided by our values:

Own It – We take full accountability and follow through on commitments.

Raise the Bar – We move fast, innovate faster, and push through barriers.

Say the Hard Thing – We speak up with honesty, respect, and a desire to solve problems and make things better.

Elevate Each Other – We win as a team by lifting each other up.

These values show up in how we work and how we connect — whether we’re collaborating on big projects or bonding over everyday moments. Yes, we even have Slack channels for #kids-and-pets and #food because we believe being human makes us better teammates.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Splash Financial is seeking a Staff Product Manager to lead the underwriting and verification experience across our personal lending funnel. This is a high-impact, high-visibility role responsible for defining and scaling the systems that power credit decisioning, fraud detection, income and identity verification, document automation, and agent workflows.

You will own the product strategy for underwriting infrastructure and decision engines that directly influence approval rates, fraud loss, operational efficiency, and customer experience. This role requires not only deep expertise in credit and fraud tooling, but also strong empathy for and experience working closely with underwriting agents and operations teams. You will design systems that improve straight-through processing while equipping agents with intuitive tools for efficient, compliant manual review.

You’ll work at the intersection of Product, Risk, Fraud, Engineering, Data Science, Compliance, and Operations to modernize our underwriting stack — including third-party data providers, document processing tools, automated decisioning platforms, and internal agent tooling.

WHAT YOU’LL DO AT SPLASH:
  • Own the end-to-end underwriting and verification product domain across credit, fraud, income, identity decisioning, and agent review workflows within the personal lending funnel.
  • Define and execute the multi-quarter roadmap for decision engines, including rule orchestration, model deployment, experimentation frameworks, and automation strategy.
  • Lead integrations and optimization of third-party data providers such as LexisNexis, Socure (or similar), credit bureaus, fraud/identity vendors, and income verification partners.
  • Drive implementation and scaling of document processing and automation platforms (e.g.- Inscribe, Ocrolus, Instabase) to increase straight-through processing and reduce manual review dependency.
  • Partner closely with underwriting agents and operations teams to design intuitive tooling, case management workflows, and review experiences that improve efficiency, quality, and compliance.
WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO SPLASH:
  • 8-10+ years of product management experience, with significant focus on underwriting, credit, fraud, or decisioning platforms in fintech or consumer lending.
  • Deep experience with credit underwriting systems and fraud decisioning tools, including hands-on experience implementing or managing decision engines.
  • Experience integrating and optimizing third-party data providers.
  • Strong structured thinking and execution excellence. You can translate strategy into a clear plan, define meaningful milestones and metrics, and deliver consistently.
  • You have strong analytical skills and can surface insights and recommendations from customer feedback and performance dashboards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills; you’re comfortable driving alignment across senior leaders and diverse teams, saying the hard thing with clarity and respect, and elevating others as you go.
  • Demonstrated experience building or improving agent-facing underwriting tools and workflows, with a strong understanding of manual review operations, queue management, case handling, and quality controls.
  •  Strong understanding of underwriting workflows, risk-based decisioning, experimentation, and operational tradeoffs, with a track record of driving measurable improvements in approval rates, fraud performance, operational efficiency, and customer experience.

COMPENSATION:

The base salary range for this role is $163,000 to $220,000 annually, based on market data and internal compensation practices. This role may also be eligible for a bonus component tied to individual and company performance. Final compensation will be determined by factors such as location, experience, and skill level.

SPLASHERS ENJOY:

  • Fully remote work freedom
  • Competitive salary packages
  • Flexible PTO + 9 company holidays
  • Equity: Share in our start-up success
  • Comprehensive and affordable insurance benefits
  • Paid parental leave for both caregivers
  • Essential modern equipment to get the job done
  • Fully paid Claude subscription to supercharge your work
  • 401(k) for your future savings
  • Quarterly meet-ups: In person & virtual fun
  • Awesome Splash swag to flaunt your team spirit

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
