About the Voltage Park Engineering Team

Voltage Park is your enterprise AI factory. We offer scalable compute power, on-demand and reserved bare metal AI infrastructure using NVIDIA GPUs, with world-class service, performance, and value. Founded with the mission of making AI computing accessible to all, our flexible, affordable GPU solutions power everyone from builders to enterprises.

We’re looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you’ll lead the design and implementation of systems that help customers harness our infrastructure for high-performance AI workloads. Staff Engineers at Voltage Park are hands-on technical leaders. You’ll drive projects across teams, mentor engineers, and help define the architecture that powers our platform.

We operate with a founder mindset—taking ownership, moving fast, and building with long-term impact in mind. As a Staff Engineer, you’ll play a key role in shaping our product, systems, and culture.

If you join us, you’ll be an early team member and help us shape:

  • Our engineering practices and technical direction

  • The architecture behind our AI infrastructure platform

  • A high-performance, high-ownership engineering culture

  • The trajectory of our products and how we serve customers

What You’ll Do
  • Design and build core systems that enable customers to run advanced AI workloads at scale

  • Lead cross-functional engineering efforts that span infrastructure, platform, and hardware layers

  • Own complex technical projects end-to-end—from architecture through to production operations

  • Collaborate with product, infrastructure, and hardware teams to deliver cohesive solutions

  • Write high-quality code and set a high bar through design reviews and mentorship

  • Contribute to engineering practices that prioritize simplicity, performance, and reliability

Who You Are
  • 7+ years of experience building and operating production-grade systems

  • Strong programming skills in one or more languages (e.g., Rust, Go, Python)

  • Proven experience designing and owning large-scale systems or features

  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in technical execution

  • Effective communicator and collaborator across engineering and product teams

  • Holds a high bar for quality, performance, and operational excellence

Ideal Experiences
  • Experience running or integrating with GPU infrastructure, AI/ML workloads, or distributed compute systems

  • Successfully scaled infrastructure to support rapid product growth

  • Deep experience in performance optimization, resource scheduling, or multi-tenant infrastructure

  • Experience with cloud infrastructure, containerized environments, or orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes, Docker)

  • Experience with AWS or other major cloud providers

  • Prior experience in fast-moving environments or a high-stakes infrastructure team

*Please note: This is a full-time, in-office role based at our headquarters in San Francisco, CA or Redmond, WA. Candidates must be located in—or willing to relocate to—one of these areas.

Voltage Park Team Culture
  • You are ambitious and always looking for ways to improve. We operate nearly $1B worth of assets, and the opportunity for impact is limitless. This role will give you the most responsibilities you’ve ever had and hold you to higher standards than other companies you’ve worked at. Expect to do the best and most impactful work of your career at Voltage Park.

  • You’re focused on impact and don’t get lost in the weeds on details that don’t matter. You’re excited to work on whatever solves the biggest customer problems, not just the coolest technical challenges. You understand when making 80/20 trade-offs is the right thing to do, and never compromise on your high standards when making those trade-offs.

  • You have a strong work ethic. As a startup, we are trying to change the world and take on many large, $B+ competitors. Raw hours make a huge difference when facing overwhelming odds. Having a strong work ethic is a competitive advantage.

  • You take ownership of your initiatives. When you say you'll do something, you get it done without anyone having to check in on you. You ship fully baked features end-to-end. You’re accountable for the deadlines you set, and you figure out a solution if something unexpected occurs.

  • You make tradeoffs when necessary and are open to new ideas. As a startup, we have to make decisions quickly and often with incomplete information. We also face problems that have no obvious solutions. Sometimes, the best ideas sound crazy at first. You don’t dismiss your teammate’s ideas and are open to being challenged by others.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
