We’re looking for a Staff Technical Program Manager to lead some of our most critical infrastructure scaling and capacity programs. This role sits at the heart of how DigitalOcean grows—ensuring we can meet customer demand with the right infrastructure, delivered efficiently and at scale.

You will operate at a strategic and executional level, partnering across Engineering, Product, Finance, and Data Center Operations to drive capacity planning and infrastructure investments across our global footprint. This is a high-impact role for a program leader who can connect business priorities with technical execution and influence decisions at the highest levels.

What You’ll Be Doing:
  • Own and drive large-scale programs focused on infrastructure scaling and global capacity expansion.
  • Plan and execute high-impact programs, such as the consolidation of small, expensive Data Centers into larger, more cost-effective sites.
  • Drive resource optimization initiatives, including harvesting unutilized memory and drives from deployed servers in DigitalOcean’s Data Centers for use in building new servers.
  • Translate product growth and business demand into clear, actionable capacity and infrastructure plans.
  • Partner with Finance, Product, and Engineering to align on forecasting, investment strategy, and prioritization of projects focused on scale.
  • Lead cross-functional execution across Data Center Operations, Supply Chain, and Infrastructure Engineering.
  • Proactively identify risks (supply constraints, deployment delays, forecast gaps) and drive mitigation strategies.
  • Establish and evolve frameworks for capacity planning, utilization tracking, and forecasting accuracy.
  • Drive executive-level alignment on tradeoffs between cost, performance, and availability.
  • Improve systems, tooling, and processes to enable scalable and repeatable infrastructure planning.
  • Deliver clear, data-driven insights to inform strategic decisions and long-term infrastructure investments.
What We’ll Expect From You:
  • 8+ years of experience in Technical Program Management or related roles in cloud infrastructure, data centers, or distributed systems.
  • Proven track record of leading complex, cross-functional programs with high business impact.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure systems (compute, storage, networking) and how they scale.
  • Experience with capacity planning, forecasting, or supply/demand management in a technical environment.
  • Ability to operate at both strategic and execution levels, influencing senior stakeholders and driving alignment.
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using data to inform decisions and drive outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to simplify complex topics for diverse audiences.
  • Comfort navigating ambiguity and driving clarity in fast-moving environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical or business-related field.
Nice to Have:
  • Experience with data center operations, hardware supply chain, or global infrastructure deployment.
  • Familiarity with capacity modeling, forecasting tools, or infrastructure planning systems.
  • Experience in high-growth or hyperscale cloud environments.
Compensation Range: 
  • $173,600.00 - $217,000

You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance.
