Staff Test Automation Engineer

About the Role
We are looking for a Staff Test Automation Engineer to join our Remote Monitoring and Management (RMM) product team. As a member of the NinjaOne technical team, you ensure we provide stable software solutions that deliver the reliability our customers expect from our products. You will work with top-tier engineers as you manage new and exciting challenges that impact on our product quality and customer satisfaction. Responsible for creating new software test automation that continuously validate our software. Apply your expertise in quality assurance and testing best practices to influence our engineering teams to identify and deliver performance optimizations for our products and infrastructure.
Location - We are flexible on remote working from home, if you are located in the USA and reside in one of the following states - CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, *IL, KS, ME, MA, NJ, NC, NY, OR, TX, TN and VA. We have physical offices in Austin, TX and Tampa, FL, if you prefer a hybrid option.
We hire the best talent, but experience in our stack can't hurt: NinjaOne is built on Java, Kotlin, C++, Golang, and Postgres, supporting millions of user endpoints and running as a scalable cloud service in AWS. Knowing large-scale datastore bottlenecks, asynchronous application design and client-server architecture will help you.
What You'll be Doing

• Test Automation: Generate and evaluate requirements for designing test scenarios to ensure maximum testing traceability. Create and review automated tests to ensure regression coverage across our products. Work with our development teams to define a testing protocol for new features as they are designed and developed.
• Technical Strategy: recommend architectural insight into the best solutions to achieve our testing priorities using our current infrastructure as well as recommendations for new ones. Build, implement and evangelize a testing first software quality approach in our software development life cycle from beginning to end.
• Collaboration: work alongside our engineers, product managers, and engineering leaders, ensuring quality standards are always achieved.
• Documentation: create detailed reports on the quality and functionality of our software applications after thorough testing. Ensure any defects or issues are documented clearly for our engineering teams to implement.
• Other duties as needed.

About You

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or any other relevant technical degree, or equivalent work experience.
• 10+ years of experience in software development in either automation testing or backend software engineering with a focus on testing.
• 5+ years of experience in Automation Testing working with Systems Software Developers.
• You have keen attention to detail, ensuring all bugs and inconsistencies are mitigated.
• An ability to think on your feet, coupled with analytical prowess for identifying, documenting, resolving and escalating software code issues as they arise.
• Previous experience working on at least 1 of these 3 operating systems: Linux (preferred) Windows or MAC.
• Experience programmatically setting up and configuring virtual machines would be an advantage.
• Experience programmatically configuring AWS would be an advantage.
• Technical Lead QA Engineer experience would make you a standout candidate.
• Outstanding communication skills.

This position is NOT eligible for Visa sponsorship.
*Due to operational policies, NinjaOne is unable to hire for this role within the city limits of Chicago. We will consider all qualified candidates who reside outside of the city proper or are willing to self-relocate.
Starting pay for the successful applicant depends on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to location, market demands, experience, job-related knowledge, and skills. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, life insurance coverage and PTO. For roles based in California or Colorado, the base salary hiring range for this position is $110,000 to $190,000 per year.
For roles based in New York, the base salary hiring range for this position is $110,000 to $190,000 per year.
