Role Description

As a Strategic Sourcing Manager at Dropbox you are responsible for developing and executing Sourcing Strategy across global vendors. We're looking for a self starter who will thrive in an often-times ambiguous environment and isn’t afraid of a challenge. The Strategic Sourcing Manager has:

  • Deep market knowledge of Third Party Cloud Service Providers (i.e AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Strong ability to determine contractual/financial exposure/ negotiate contracts
  • Knowledge of Cloud contracting trends, licensing models - traditional and emerging contract/vendor performance models.
  • Executive Relationship Management skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate with users, legal, sourcing, business leaders and engineering to align technical requirements with business goals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Enterprise contract/pricing negotiations with platform Cloud Service Providers 
  • Facilitate New Technology evaluation and implementation via Cloud Service Providers
  • Align on Cloud Spend and Forecast Spend across Engineering organizations
  • Partner with Engineering teams to leverage Cloud Service Provider Roadmaps 
  • Manage Executive Partnership & Relationship management between Dropbox and Cloud Service Providers

Requirements

  • +7 years experience in Strategic Sourcing with Cloud Services or related fields 
  • +5 years of major enterprise level contract negotiation experience 
  • Experience in building and developing vendor partnerships at the Executive level
  • Proven success and experience in providing direction to technical/engineering teams
  • A diverse technical acumen--actively contribute to technical discussions, proactively identify challenges and risks, working closely with engineers and product manager on addressing challenges, and form mitigation plans.
  • You have the ability to communicate complex plans effectively.

  • Effective problem-solving skills.
