The Task At Hand: 

The Strategic Sourcing Manager supports the development of sourcing strategies that strengthen supply chain resiliency, enable long-term, sustainable growth, and support direct sourcing opportunities across the supply chain. This role develops insights, conducts analysis, and builds tools that inform sourcing decisions aligned with our mission to deliver high-quality, nutritious, and safe foods for babies through big kids. This role supports initiatives that balance cost, quality, innovation, and direct sourcing considerations while upholding our Public Benefit Corporation commitments, organic standards, sustainability goals, and ethical supply chain practices. Working cross-functionally with Procurement and Operations, and in close collaboration with Quality, R&D, Sustainability, and Marketing, this role ensures sourcing strategies protect product integrity, meet ingredient and regulatory standards, and support efficient, scalable operations. 


In This Role, You Will:  
Sourcing Analysis & Strategy Enablement 
  • Conduct Global Category Analyses for key ingredients 

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret supplier, market, and financial data to support sourcing strategies, business cases, and long-term supply planning. 

  • Maintain awareness of industry trends, certifications, and regulatory developments affecting organic and sustainable supply chains. 

Supplier Performance, Sustainability & Qualification 
  • Develop, maintain, and analyze cross-functional supplier scorecards that incorporate quality, cost, risk, and sustainability of KPIs (e.g., organic integrity, worker wellbeing, climate risk). 

  • Partner with Sustainability, Procurement, and Quality to monitor supplier performance, identify risks, and track corrective action plans. 

  • Support supplier identification, qualification, and onboarding, including assessment of suppliers’ capabilities for direct sourcing models or other strategic priorities. 

  • Drive supply scalability in alignment with brand standards for transparency, organic integrity, heavy metals mitigation, nutrition, and sustainability commitments. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Operations for onboarding new suppliers of strategic categories 

  • Partner with Innovation and R&D by providing supplier and ingredient insights to support new product development. 

  • Support Sustainability initiatives by collecting and tracking supplier data related to organic sourcing, worker wellbeing, and climate resilience priorities. 

Sourcing Execution & Commercial Support 
  • For strategic ingredients, support sourcing events (RFPs, RFQs, RFIs) through data analysis, bid comparisons, and total cost of ownership (TCO) modeling. 

  • For strategic ingredients, prepare financial models, benchmarks, and scenario analyses to support supplier negotiations and commercial decision-making. 

  • Assist in the evaluation of cost, risk, and value trade-offs across sourcing options. 

Reporting, Tools & Process Development 
  • Build and maintain analytical tools, dashboards, templates, and documentation to support sourcing decisions and supplier performance tracking, for strategic ingredients.  

  • Present sourcing strategies, business cases, and risk assessments internally & prepare reports and materials for senior stakeholders. 

  • Document sourcing processes, assumptions, and learnings to enable consistency, scalability, and continuous improvement. 

 

In This Role, You’ll Bring With You:  
  • BS in Supply Chain, Business, Economics, Sustainability, Operations, Food Science, or a related field. 

  • 5+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, supply chain analytics, operations, or related field (experience in CPG preferred, experience in food, beverage, agriculture, and/or ingredient industries required). 

  • Experience working cross-functionally; effectively driving priorities while balancing multiple stakeholder interests  

  • Demonstrated expertise in managing organic, sustainable, or ethically sourced supply chains. 

  • Change management and process creation and implementation experience  

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, structure, analyze, and interpret complex datasets. 

  • Proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools (e.g., advanced formulas, pivot tables; experience with BI tools a plus). 

  • Experience building financial models, cost analyses, and total cost of ownership (TCO) frameworks. 

  • Ability to translate data into clear insights, recommendations, and executive-ready materials. 

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a mission-driven mindset. 

  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Suite, Outlook, Slack, and other professional platforms 

  • Approximately 15-20% travel required: Various travel for supplier visits and occasional related conferences. Additionally, we “Farmers” do meet as a company and/or as a department a few times a year. Anticipate possible travel up to a few times each quarter 

  • Genuinely passionate about improving childhood nutrition for a healthier and happier planet 

  • Desire to contribute to a dynamic, high-growth, purpose-driven work environment 

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity, deeply understand business needs, develop a cohesive strategy, and make decisions requiring a high level of judgment 

  • Must reside in the United States to be considered for this position

Compensation:  
  • Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt 

  • The anticipated salary range for this position is $120,000.00 to $140,000.00. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a few factors, including skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses, stipends, and role-specific perks.
