We are seeking a Strategic Technical Account Director to join our team. The Strategic Technical Account Director for the Americas is a key Global Strategic Business Unit member responsible for supporting a single global customer. This role acts as a trusted advisor across a broad base of stakeholders, providing insights and guidance to help the customer grow and scale their data center platform and leverage their platform investments to achieve their business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Owns and coordinates the overall structure for memorializing and documenting a repeatable process for “how we do business with X customer.” This position will partner across the firm to document and infuse best practices with individual customer stakeholders given the unique business requirements. This will drive consistency within CyrusOne resulting in more predictability and ultimately and improvement in customer satisfaction.

  • A client advocate this role manages the pre-lease, post lease, and technical update changes or adds regularly updating the customer and ensuring alignment with their platform program.

  • Coordinates and conducts internal subject matter experts and dedicated customer practice leads of the strategic business unit, from design, engineering, to delivery teams into broader engagement through the customer’s meetings, iteration sessions, summits, and thought leadership workshops.

  • Follows, optimizes and ensures programmatic successful handoff from the input of the customers submission portal for potential expansion capabilities to assisting CyrusOne team contributors for the completion of final statements of qualification ensuring no items are missed to avoid costly mistakes before customer notice to proceed.

  • Engages routinely with cross-functional internal teams to deliver solutions for the customer through complex technical sales involving various customer stakeholders.

  • Translate customer insights to the Global Strategic Business Unit Account Team Practice Leads and the Senior Management Team through regularly scheduled account reviews.

  • Creates and co-develop customer presentations and participate in meetings with customer.

  • Regularly updates customer stakeholders about emerging data center design trends, future land and powered shell projects to fulfill data center requirements with the Americas VP of the Strategic Account.

  • Seeks value creation opportunities to co-develop solutions with the customer for their evolving technology lifecycle requirements and to extend the lifecycle of the data center platform.

  • Collaborate closely with the Americas VP of Strategic Account and the Strategic Program Manager to address the customer’s needs and work with Practice Leads to maintain quarterly KPIs with the customer.

  • Consistently achieve the targeted financial goals, KPIs for the account.

Qualifications:

  • 7 years of proven success in Technical Account Management role or technical consulting role serving the technology industry.

  • Large account technical solution sales experience (hyperscale infrastructure, or REIT colocation)

  • Previous experience selling to technical executive decision makers across various customer functions.

  • Strong knowledge of the technology industry - with experience from within Cloud/Web-scale and or AI, a plus.

  • Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Ability to bring clarity from the customer’s point of view to deliver a clear understanding of needs.

  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills with ability to translate platform investments and customer requirements from TCO to ROI with value framework or outcome-based methodology.

  • Must be able to work in a rapid pace team environment with multiple stakeholders.

  • Self-motivated and performance-driven.

  • Project management, a plus.

  • Deep knowledge of hyperscale, AI, and Data Center industries.

  • Ability to effectively use CRM, Excel, PowerPoint, and BI applications to manage the sales/service process.

  • Must be willing to learn and adapt to the customer’s rapidly evolving Gig Economy industry.

Education/Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field is required.

Work Environment:

  • The work environment is field-based, with remote meetings with the customer primarily at their campuses, CyrusOne data centers and corporate offices.

Salary Range:

$150,000.00 - $180,000.00
