Who We Are

🏔Product: TLDR is the largest network of tech newsletters in the world, with over 7M subscribers covering everything from startups and software engineering to AI, cybersecurity, product, and more. Every issue is written by builders in tech. Both TLDR Crypto writers both work at Coinbase, TLDR Dev is written by engineers from DeepMind and Meta, TLDR AI is written by researchers from Anthropic and Adobe. That’s why TLDR is the best way to stay current on what truly matters in tech.

💪Team: Our 26-person full time team includes alumni of TikTok, Business Insider, Morning Brew, and other top media brands.

📈Traction: We doubled our revenue from 2024 to 2025 and are looking to double revenue again in 2026. We are supported by advertisers who want to reach tech’s decision makers, including AWS, Google Cloud, Anthropic, Slack, Notion, and GitHub.

About the Role

In this role, you will:

  • Own and drive high-priority initiatives end-to-end across any function. Scope deliverables, set milestones, manage dependencies across teams, and hold stakeholders accountable to timelines and quality standards.

  • Structure ambiguous problems into clear analyses and action plans. You're the person who builds the model, frames the trade-offs, and delivers a recommendation.

  • Help design and run the company's operating cadences — reporting cycles, planning processes, review rhythms. Identify where process is missing or breaking and stand up lightweight systems before problems compound.

  • Act as the connective tissue between the CEO, functional leads, and execution teams, ensuring outcomes are measurable and repeatable.

  • Maintain shared sources of truth — partner with functional owners to investigate discrepancies, validate data definitions, and build playbooks and institutional documentation that reduce key-person risk.

What Success Looks Like

In your first 6 months, you will:

  • Own 2–3 cross-functional initiatives from scoping through delivery

  • Build or improve at least one recurring operational cadence (planning cycle, metrics reporting, or review process) that the team adopts and relies on

  • Deliver an analysis that directly informs a major strategic decision

  • Earn trust as the person leadership turns to when something important needs to get done well and fast

Key outcomes you'll be measured on:

  • Execution velocity and quality — initiatives move to completion on time, with analytically rigorous outputs that leadership acts on without heavy rework

  • Operational scalability — the cadences, documentation, and systems you build help the company reach alignment faster

About You
  • 5–7+ years in business operations, finance, or management consulting, with at 2 years in a cross-functional ops or chief-of-staff-type role at a high-growth company preferred

  • Experience in a hyper-growth environment — you've operated where structure was being built, not inherited.

  • Analytically rigorous — you are a first-principles thinker, you build models, trackers, and analyses from scratch, not just operate within existing frameworks. Advanced spreadsheets minimum; SQL or BI tools a plus

  • Effective cross-functional operator — you will be doing the work and driving execution across teams you don't directly control, without creating friction.

  • Strong communicator — you translate complex analysis into clear, exec-ready outputs, written and verbal

Nice to haves:

  • MBA or equivalent analytical training

  • Experience with CRM/RevOps systems (HubSpot, Salesforce)

  • Exposure to media, advertising, or newsletter business models

  • AI/automation proficiency for workflow optimization

You’ll Thrive Here If You…
  • Spot problems worth solving and start on them without waiting for direction

  • Drive decisions forward instead of adding meetings and status updates

  • Are energized by shipping, not just advising

  • Move fluidly across functional areas and enjoy the variety

  • Do your best work in lean environments and enjoy building systems from scratch

  • Have operated somewhere you owned the output, not just the recommendation

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
