Director, Studio Operations & Production

About the Role

The Director, Studio Operations & Production leads the Client’s in-house creative studio, delivering high-craft video and always-on, multi-brand social content for a global technology leader. This is a full-time, permanent, remote position with ASG, embedded with the Client’s studio team.

You’ll lead a multidisciplinary team of 17 or more, including managers and discipline leads, and shape how the studio grows. The studio runs 2 workstreams: B2B advertising and marketing content across social and digital channels, and executive-facing video for senior leadership, including sizzle reels, town hall recaps, and leadership communications. With 15 to 20 projects in flight at any time, scaling to 30 to 35 during peak event season, you’ll set the operating model, build the team for scale, and make sure both workstreams get the leadership and output they deserve.

This is a role for a proven studio leader who wants real ownership: the team, the budget, the operating model, and a seat at the table with executive stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

Lead and Grow the Studio

  • Lead a multidisciplinary team of designers, editors, producers, and copywriters, including managers and discipline leads

  • Scale the studio through growth, structural change, and headcount expansion, owning org design and hiring plans

  • Develop your managers and leads through coaching, performance management, and clear career paths

  • Set the studio’s operating model and the standards for quality, delivery, and process

Direct Video and Multi-Brand Social

  • Oversee high-craft video production (brand, narrative, episodic) alongside always-on B2B social content across multiple brands

  • Balance priorities across both workstreams so neither is shortchanged during volume spikes

  • Own the intake, prioritization, and delivery model, with your managers and leads running day-to-day traffic

  • Keep creative review and delivery cycles moving across tools including Figma, Frame.io, and Lucid

Run Studio Operations, Budget, and Capacity

  • Own the studio budget, including forecasting, resource modeling, and spend tracking

  • Lead capacity planning and utilization, forecasting flex and freelance needs ahead of peak periods

  • Partner with ASG’s resource management team to bring in flex talent quickly for priority projects

  • Own the studio’s Airtable workflow system, partnering with dedicated technical resources on structure and reporting

  • Report on output, team health, and delivery performance to leadership

Partner with Executive Stakeholders

  • Serve as the senior point of contact for executive and cross-functional partners across both workstreams

  • Align studio capacity with business priorities, using data to guide scope and timeline decisions

Bring AI into the Workflow

  • Drive adoption of generative AI tools that speed up production across design, editing, and copy

  • Bring an AI-optimist mindset and a track record of putting AI tools to work in a creative workflow

Required Experience
  • Senior Studio Leadership: 10 or more years in creative production, including 5 or more as a Head of Studio, Head of Production, Executive Producer, or Director-level studio leader

  • People Management at Scale: A proven track record leading teams of 17 or more, including managing managers and discipline leads, and growing teams through expansion and reorganization

  • Integrated Video and Social: Deep experience directing both high-craft video production and always-on, multi-brand social content at volume

  • B2B Content: Experience leading B2B advertising, marketing, or product content for enterprise, advertiser, or professional audiences, at a brand, in-house studio, or agency

  • Studio Operations and Budget: Experience owning studio budgets or P&L, capacity planning, resource modeling, and flex staffing

  • Executive Stakeholder Management: Experience partnering with senior leadership and balancing competing executive priorities

  • Airtable (Required): Hands-on experience working in and maintaining Airtable workflow systems, and partnering with technical resources on structure. Systems architecture and scripting are not required

  • Creative Tools: Working experience with Figma, Frame.io, and Lucid or comparable tools, plus enough familiarity with Adobe Premiere to scope edit timing

Preferred Experience
  • Industry Background: In-house studio experience at a tech or big tech company, or a high-growth tech creative organization. Experience in financial services or FinTech creative studios, or leading tech accounts at a major global agency, is also a strong fit

  • Maker Background: Past hands-on experience as an editor, designer, or similar

  • Podcast Experience: Podcast production or post-production experience

Position Details
  • Position type: regular full-time

  • Location: 100% remote

  • Team: leads a studio of 17 or more, including managers and discipline leads, across both workstreams
