Supports project leadership in planning and executing translational oncology studies. Responsibilities include entering and maintaining study data, developing timelines and protocols, coordinating schedules and materials, managing LIMS activities, supporting in vivo study enrollment, arranging sample shipments, and resolving study issues. The role collaborates with project leaders, laboratory operations, procurement, logistics, and client teams while managing multiple priorities and maintaining accurate project documentation.
TITLE: Study Coordinator Translational Oncology Solutions (TOS)
REPORTING LOCATION: Rockville, MD / Remote, US
REPORTS TO: Manager of Project Leadership
SALARY RANGE: $50,000 -$65.000 yearly
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
The Study Coordinator (SC) serves as the primary supporting role for the Project Leadership team who manages Champions vast portfolio of client sponsors regarding scientific design, PDX tumor model selection, and project execution. The SC will work closely with the Project Leaders/Study Directors and requires strong communication skills, attention to detail and the need to be highly organized. The SC will also interact and liaise with various internal operations groups at Champions to coordinate the scheduling/planning and execution of studies.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.
To support the Project Leadership team, duties and responsibilities will include:
- Initial entry of study information into database(s) for project management purposes.
- Assist in generating estimated study timelines.
- Assist in planning/scheduling of studies in coordination with project leadership and operations teams.
- Update study information as needed to capture protocol amendments.
- Manage and update project timelines and milestones within database(s).
- Work with operations for procurement of materials required for study execution.
- Create initial study protocol drafts and amendments as appropriate.
- Manage aspects of ongoing studies in the laboratory information management system in partnership with the Project Leader.
- Perform and/or review enrollment of in vivo studies.
- Assist in scheduling end of study activities/analyses with various operational groups.
- Work with logistics to arrange shipment of samples to collaborators and clients/laboratories for studies.
- Identifies and provides resolution to problems involving ongoing studies, as appropriate.
- Participates and provides feedback in team meetings
- Works independently and performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Knowledge of project management and oncology research. Knowledge of in vivo oncology models (Xenograft/PDX) preferred.
- Ability to work in multiple databases to assist in project management.
- Collaborative, can-do attitude. Timely decision making, good interpersonal skills and an ability to be persistent while maintaining tact.
- Must have the ability to balance several priorities simultaneously with high attention to detail.
- Ability for frequent adaptation, self-organization, accountability.
- Effective oral and written communication skills are required.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Word and Excel.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- B.S. degree with appropriate experience or M.S. degree with a focus on a biology or chemistry related field, oncology a plus.
- 1 to 3 years of experience in the field of contract research, pre-clinical research or a similar position is preferred but not required.
