What is the Supply Chain Operations Manager role?

The Supply Chain Operations Manager runs the engine that gets the right clinical device to the right patient at the lowest sustainable cost, with every unit accounted for across its life.

You will own the day-to-day supply chain: forecasting demand against enrollment, coordinating vendors and third-party logistics (3PL) partners, keeping inventory accurate to the unit, and driving the cleanup that turns an inherited complex device footprint into a simple, reliable operation. This is a hands-on role for someone who is comfortable working in the weeds today and wants to grow as the function matures.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Run day-to-day supply chain operations, including device purchasing, vendor management, invoice review, and order fulfillment, ensuring supplier performance, contract compliance, and uninterrupted device availability.
  • Own inventory accuracy and device accountability across the full device lifecycle, including asset tracking, recovery efforts, and minimizing losses from damaged, lost, or unreturned devices.
  • Own demand forecasting tied to enrollment growth, balancing inventory investment with service levels while minimizing stockouts and expedited shipping costs.
  • Simplify and standardize the device portfolio by reducing unnecessary SKUs, optimizing bills of materials, and improving operational efficiency.
  • Manage third-party logistics (3PL) and fulfillment partners across kitting, shipping, returns, and reverse logistics, establishing service level expectations and continuously improving operational performance.
  • Define and own supply chain KPIs, including fill rate, inventory accuracy, on-time delivery, device recovery, and cost per unit, providing analysis and recommendations that drive operational improvements.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to automate inventory, provisioning, fulfillment, and device lifecycle workflows, improving visibility and reducing manual effort.
  • Manage supplier relationships, negotiate pricing where appropriate, and identify opportunities to reduce supply chain costs while maintaining quality and service levels.

What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor's degree required. Degree preferred in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years in supply chain, fulfillment, or logistics operations, ideally in a high-growth startup or scaling environment is required.
  • A hands-on operator who enjoys solving operational problems while building scalable processes and systems for long-term growth.
  • Strong experience with inventory management, demand planning, supplier management, and third-party logistics (3PL) operations.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using Excel, Google Sheets, ERP systems, inventory management platforms, and BI tools to drive operational decisions.
  • Demonstrated success simplifying complex operations by improving processes, optimizing inventory, and standardizing workflows.
  • Clear, concise communication and a collaborative, team-first approach, with strong cross-functional coordination across engineering, clinical, and commercial teams.
  • Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with an ownership mindset. Experience supporting connected medical devices, healthcare operations, or regulated supply chains is a plus.

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
