Salesforce is seeking a visionary and strategic SVP of Global SMB Marketing to lead and transform global marketing for the SMB business. This leader will drive growth by developing and executing a comprehensive go-to-market field marketing strategy spanning demand generation, high-impact events, digital marketing across paid and organic channels, content creation, and integrated campaigns. Based in the U.S. with global responsibilities, this role requires a dynamic leader adept at accelerating Salesforce’s SMB growth, market presence, and customer engagement worldwide.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • SMB Market Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing strategy tailored to the unique needs and characteristics of the SMB market, aligning with overall company goals. This includes building and implementing the brand's presence and relevance within the SMB segment, ensuring messaging resonates with SMB owners and decision-makers.

  • Demand Generation and Growth: Drive demand for products/services within the SMB market through targeted campaigns, lead generation initiatives, and digital marketing strategies.

  • Customer Acquisition: Lead initiatives to acquire new SMB customers, optimizing the customer acquisition cost and improving customer lifetime value.

  • Product Marketing Alignment: Collaborate with product teams to ensure product development and roadmaps align with SMB customer needs and preferences.

  • Sales Enablement: Equip sales teams with the necessary marketing materials, tools, and training to effectively sell to SMB customers.

  • Digital Marketing & E-commerce: Oversee the development and execution of digital marketing strategies, including web, paid digital, SEO, social media, and e-commerce initiatives, specifically tailored for SMB audiences.

  • Marketing Budget Management: Develop and manage the SMB marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximizing return on investment (ROI).

  • Market Research & Analysis: Conduct ongoing market research and analysis to understand SMB trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape, and adjust marketing strategies accordingly.

  • Team Leadership & Development: Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing SMB marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

  • Performance Measurement & Reporting: Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of SMB marketing initiatives and provide regular reports to senior leadership.

  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including sales, product development, and customer support, to ensure alignment and seamless execution of the SMB strategy.

Required Experience & Skills:

  • B2B Marketing Expertise: 15+ years experience developing and executing new marketing strategies and programs for B2B organizations.

  • Extensive Marketing Experience: 15+ years marketing experience in a role managing multi-channel marketing campaigns (email, direct mail, print, online, social media).

  • Demand and Budget Management: 10+ years experience driving demand and pipeline, managing marketing budgets and optimizing spend across tactics with solid background in forecasting results.

  • Industry Marketing Experience: Industry marketing experience is a plus.

  • Adaptability and Energy: High energy and the ability to manage multiple initiatives, working well under pressure in a high growth environment that is constantly changing.

  • Strategic and Analytical Thinking: Strategic and analytical thinker who is able to be an agent for change; experience managing change and ambiguity, taking ownership and creating structure.

  • Agility and Speed: Ability to successfully operate in a fast-paced dynamic environment experiencing growth and expansion, a strong bias for action, testing and innovating. Track record for delivering under tight deadlines and ability to work across reporting lines and organizations.

  • Strategic Mindset: Ability to think strategically, crisply synthesizing market research and competitive intelligence and articulating that into a winning go-to-market strategy blend technology and business strategy to develop compelling vision and strategy for driving marketing programs to growth businesses.

For New York-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $373,000 to $473,000.For Washington-based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $373,000 to $473,000.

For Illinois based roles, the base salary hiring range for this position is $373,000 to $473,000.

Compensation offered will be determined by factors such as location, level, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, benefits.
