Prowess Consulting is looking for an enthusiastic System Administrator/System Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have skills in a variety of technologies including storage, compute and networking. Focus on Linux administration and scripting. Strong trouble shooting and creative problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently to resolve issues.
To be considered for this role, you must reside in one of the following states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Georgia, Illinois, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, or Washington.
This is a full-time role that can be worked remotely, however, collaboration with teammates centered in the Pacific time zone will be essential. No third-party agencies, please.

THE ROLE
- Provision, install, and configure system hardware, software, and related infrastructure
- Installing and configuring operating systems and applications
- Researching, testing, development and writing in support of benchmarking, and testing
- Researching popular software products and building real-world scenario use-cases to use for server hardware under test
- Running publicly available hardware benchmarks and tracking results
- Ensure that hardware and software system platforms are operating correctly
- 2+ years’ experience administrating AWS, Azure, GCP, or Oracle cloud
- 4+ years' experience with hypervisor technology is required
- 2+ years with scripting languages such as Python and Batch/Shell scripts
- 2+ years of hardware configuration including storage, network, and compute
- 1+ year of installing and configuring best practices for relational database services
- Ability to take clear notes and write concise technical documentation
- 2+ years’ experience in a Windows environment
- 2+ years' experience with Linux Administration
- 1+ year experience in configuring enterprise storage
- 1+ year consumer hardware benchmarking and testing
- 2+ years with building sandbox and lab environments
- 2+ years’ experience containerized workloads running within a Kubernetes environment
- Working knowledge of virtual desktop infrastructure
- Ability to conduct research to learn and understand new technologies
- The offered base pay range for this specific positing is $90,000 – 130,000, DOE
- Base Pay ranges are different for different work locations within the U.S., which allows for competitive pay and consistency in different states
- U.S. based employees, working 30 hours per week or more have access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, basic life insurance, a 401K plan with matching, well-being benefits, education benefits, among others.
- U.S. based full-time employees receive 11 paid holidays, and accrue paid time off
