Job Description SummaryOur team, ADT (Advanced Design Tools), works with engineering teams from GE Aerospace to help them unleash productivity by developing and maintaining physics-based software engineering solutions.
In this role you will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team in an agile/SCRUM model to develop and maintain mechanical design solutions having the opportunity to work with partners and stakeholders mainly from Mexico, USA and India. The position requires background in thermodynamics, heat transfer and fluid mechanics in order to understand aviation turbo machinery. Strong programming skills are required to generate computer tools that assist engine performance analysis and design.Job Description

Essential Responsibilities: 

  • Exhibit technical capabilities with physics-based phenomena computer modeling in at least one of following areas: Aerodynamics, Thermodynamics.  

  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements, identify the scope of the work and help the development team translate them into technical requirements, including maintenance and users support.

  • Work together with development and functional team, from different engineering teams, using Agile methodologies as an effective collaboration way to ensure deliveries on time and with the expected quality.  

  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring to other engineers, be a champion of safety and quality and influence team towards continuous improvement 

 

Qualifications/ Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering or related field 

  • A minimum of 6 years of professional experience 

  • Strong programming skills in at least one object-oriented programming language 

  • Excellent communication, collaboration, reporting, analytical and problem-solving skills including the ability to influence customers and team members to understand your way of thinking   

  • Experience with thermal modeling and simulation 

Desired Characteristics: 

  • Experience with the Numerical Propulsion System Simulation (NPSS) software 

  • Strong experience with thermodynamic Bryton cycle analysis.
