Team Lead, Digital Media Strategist

Remote (US-based preferred) | 35 - 40 hours

Do you love helping creative people do their best work?

Do you lead with clarity, empathy, and momentum?

If that sounds like you, you might just thrive here.

MarketScale is where industry meets storytelling. We help B2B brands turn subject matter experts into creators—transforming real-world insights into videos, podcasts, and user-generated content that drives connection and credibility.

We’re not just producing content, we’re building a movement. One that champions community-driven media, empowers creators, and shifts how industries communicate at scale.

At the heart of this is our global network of Digital Media Strategists and now, we’re looking for a Team Lead who can help guide and grow this community.

The Role

This is a leadership position for someone who thrives at the intersection of creativity, coaching, and operations.

As a Team Lead, you’ll work directly with a group of freelance Digital Media Strategists (DMS) who help our clients turn strategy into standout content. But you won’t just manage, you’ll mentortroubleshoot, and set the tone for what great work looks like.

Your team will look to you for feedback, clarity, and direction. Clients will trust you to keep their strategy on track. And we’ll count on you to help build a content culture that’s creative, consistent, and community-led.

What You’ll Be Doing

Lead and Support a Team of Freelance Editors and Strategists

  • Run weekly syncs, daily check-ins, and structured feedback sessions
  • Coach on both creative quality and client communication
  • Monitor workloads, identify gaps, and keep things moving efficiently

Own Creative and Client Success

  • Lead client kickoffs and set expectations for quality and cadence
  • Watch Gong calls, flag risks, and step in when course corrections are needed
  • Track performance across your team’s book of business and drive results

Build a Learning-Driven Culture

  • Contribute to short-form learning content like Tip Tuesday and editor microlearnings
  • Lead by example in fostering collaboration, sharing wins, and learning from misses
  • Help make the DMS community a space where editors feel supported and challenged

Drive Operational and Editorial Excellence

  • Enforce content guidelines and creative standards
  • Partner with Studio and Platform teams to streamline workflows
  • Share ideas, identify inefficiencies, and help improve the broader system

Tools You’ll Use

  • Gong (call review and performance insights)
  • Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Excel, Word, OneDrive
  • Zoom and RingCentral (client and internal communication)
  • Power BI (performance reporting and account health tracking)
  • MarketScale Studio (our proprietary UGC video platform)

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (in Marketing, Communications, Media, or related field preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in content strategy, creative production, team leadership or coaching
  • Strong communication skills and experience providing direct feedback to creatives
  • Experience managing remote teams in a fast-paced environment
  • A clear understanding of B2B marketing and/or user-generated content workflows
  • Proven ability to lead through ambiguity and maintain momentum across multiple projects

Why MarketScale

We’re not your typical media company. We’re building something new—where content isn’t controlled by a few, but contributed by many. Where UGC isn’t a trend, but a foundation. Where creative communities thrive and grow together.

Here, your ideas matter. Your leadership matters. And your ability to build a team that’s as thoughtful as it is talented? That’s what will make the difference.

If you’re ready to lead with purpose, coach with impact, and build something that lasts—we’d love to hear from you.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
