Fingerprint empowers developers to stop online fraud at the source.

We work on turning radical new ideas in the fraud detection space into reality. Our products are developer-focused and our clients range from solo developers to publicly traded companies. We are a globally dispersed, 100% remote company with a strong open-source focus. Our flagship open-source project is FingerprintJS (20K stars on GitHub).

We have raised $77M and are backed by Craft Ventures (previously invested in Tesla, Facebook, Airbnb ), Nexus Venture Partners (previously invested in Postman, Apollo.io, MinIO, Druva) and Uncorrelated Ventures (previously invested in Redis, Rollbar & Gradle).

We have noticed a rise in recruiting impersonations across the industry, where scammers attempt to access candidates' personal and financial information through fake interviews and offers. All Fingerprint recruiting email communications will always come from the @fingerprint.com domain. Any outreach claiming to be from Fingerprint via other sources should be ignored.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Tech Lead to own and expand Fingerprint’s website and acquisition surfaces by owning engineering and supporting infrastructure.

This role reports into the Engineering org, but functions as a part of the Marketing team. You’ll act as the Tech lead of our website, landing pages, experimentation framework and content tooling. You’ll work at the intersection of design and demand generation, helping Marketing ship faster while pursuing excellence in quality, performance and creativity.

This is a senior, hands-on role focused on ownership and outcomes. You’ll collaborate with other Engineering resources to drive ideas to production, optimize website performance and scale the website to Enterprise level.

The stack is modern and lightweight: Vercel serverless functions (Node.js / TypeScript) with no long-running servers. Experience with transitioning from a custom platform to a CMS is also essential

What You’ll Do
  • Define Technical Strategy: Own the long-term technical roadmap for Fingerprint’s web presence, ensuring our marketing surfaces are as scalable, secure, and performant as our core product.
  • Architect Scalable Systems: Lead the architectural transition from custom code to a headless CMS/Framer-driven ecosystem that balances developer flexibility with marketing autonomy.
  • Drive Technical Excellence: Act as the final authority on website infrastructure and tool selection, ensuring our stack (Vercel, Gatsby, Node.js) remains modern, lightweight, and debt-free.
  • Engineering Partnership: Serve as the primary technical liaison between Marketing and the broader Engineering organization, ensuring cross-team dependencies are identified and unblocked early.
  • Build-to-Enable: Create reusable components, primitives, and "Golden Paths" in Framer and Gatsby that allow non-technical stakeholders to ship high-quality pages without constant engineering intervention.
  • Performance & Security Oversight: Own the "Definition of Done" for web projects, maintaining elite Lighthouse scores, robust SEO, and rigorous security standards (CSP, headers, and data privacy).
  • Experimentation Infrastructure: Lead the technical implementation of our A/B testing and attribution frameworks (Amplitude, Posthog, GTM), ensuring data integrity across the entire conversion path.
  • Technical Mentorship: Provide high-level architectural guidance and rigorous code reviews for other engineering resources contributing to the web properties.
  • Strategic Advising: Act as the senior technical partner for Marketing leadership, distilling complex technical trade-offs into clear business decisions regarding feasibility and impact.
What You Bring
  • 7+ years of experience in Marketing Engineering, Frontend, or Growth Engineering roles
  • 3+ years of experience as a Tech Lead or Staff Engineer, with a proven track record of designing systems that allow non-technical stakeholders (Marketing/Growth) to scale independently
  • Experience owning and evolving production marketing websites
  • Strong proficiency with modern frontend fundamentals including HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • Hands-on experience with Framer
  • Experience building serverless APIs using Node.js and Typescript
  • Strong understanding of analytics, experimentation and attribution
  • Experience using Amplitude, Google Tag Manager and Posthog
  • Strong design sensibility, including attention to spacing, heirachy, motion, and detail
  • Capability to create delightful, accessible and performant experiences to users, adhering to latency benchmarks
  • Familiarity with SEO, performance optimization and CRO best practices
  • Ability to work autonomously and take full ownership of outcomes
  • Clear communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with Marketing, including consistent collaboration through Slack, screenshots and calls
Nice to Have
  • Experience building custom code components in Framer
  • Knowledge of UX and best design practices
  • Experience with advanced Framer animations or custom motion components.
  • Familiarity with Framer Motion
  • Experience with serverless integrations
  • Motion or interaction design background
  • Background in B2B SaaS, PLG, or cybersecurity
  • Experience working closely with Marketing teams
  • Familiarity with CMS-driven or structured content setups
  • Ability to prioritize cost versus the impact on experience (for example, some animations are unnecessary because they are not the main focus)

For US-based employees, the cash compensation range for this role is $178,000 - $205,000. We set standard ranges for all US roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. To comply with local legislation and provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location. However, these ranges are specific to the hiring location and may differ within or outside the US. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including geographic location as well as candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed above.

We have noticed a rise in recruiting impersonations across the industry, where scammers attempt to access candidates' personal and financial information through fake interviews and offers. Offers vary depending on, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, certifications/licenses, skills, training, and market conditions.

Due to regulatory and security reasons, there’s a small number of countries where we cannot have Fingerprint teammates based. Additionally, because Fingerprint is an all-remote company and people can join our workforce from almost any country, we do not sponsor visas. Fingerprint teammates need to be authorized to work from their home location.

We are dedicated to creating an inclusive work environment for everyone. We embrace and celebrate the unique experiences, perspectives and cultural backgrounds that each employee brings to our workplace. Fingerprint strives to foster an environment where our employees feel respected, valued and empowered, and our team members are at the forefront in helping us promote and sustain an inclusive workplace. We highly encourage people from underrepresented groups in tech to apply.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
