We’re looking for a Technical Content Strategist to support large-scale digital ecosystem work. This role focuses on the structure, organization, and governance of content across multiple properties. You’ll partner closely with UX, IA, Product, and Engineering to ensure content is modeled, labeled, and organized in ways that make sense for both users and the business.

What You’ll Do
  • Translate business goals and user needs into clear content structures and frameworks.
  • Build and refine content schemas and data models that inform how content is created, stored, and surfaced.
  • Develop taxonomies, controlled vocabularies, labeling systems, metadata standards, and tagging approaches.
  • Create sitemaps, navigation models, and page-level content frameworks for multi-site ecosystems.
  • Conduct content audits and inventories to assess the current state and identify pathways toward consolidation or replatforming.
  • Collaborate with UX/IA to align content structure with interaction patterns and user journeys.
  • Partner with copywriters, designers, and developers to ensure strategy is consistently applied through delivery.
  • Work with client stakeholders to clarify terminology, governance rules, and content decision-making processes.
What We’re Looking For
  • Senior-level experience in content strategy, information architecture, or content design for complex digital environments.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Content modeling
    • Schema and taxonomy design
    • Navigation and labeling systems
    • Enterprise CMS or DAM environments
  • Comfortable analyzing large, sometimes messy, content ecosystems and making them understandable.
  • Able to explain complex concepts in clear, plain language.
  • Collaborative working style - this role works across UX, Design, Product, Creative Strategy, and Engineering.
  • Experience working in cross-agency or multi-stakeholder environments is a plus.
About You
  • You think structurally and ask clarifying questions early.
  • You enjoy organizing complexity and making information intuitive.
  • You communicate in a way that brings clarity and alignment across teams.
  • You can balance rigor with flexibility - knowing when to set a framework and when to let the work evolve.

The target range of base compensation for this role is $55/hr- 75/hr. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
