Leidos is seeking a summer intern with a Computer Science / Engineering background to join our team in support of the SMIT contract, the largest IT services program for the Navy. Under the Service Management, Integration, and Transport (SMIT), Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet (NMCI), including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. Ultimately, the Leidos team will support the Navy in unifying its shore-based networks and data management to improve capability and service while also saving significant dollars by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The successful candidate will support Linux, Windows, and database solutions and analysis for the NMCI network.
Primary Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, development, documentation, testing, and deployment of automation processes. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automation scripts using Python, JavaScript, and SQL, while utilizing the PyCharm IDE. Collaborate with the testing team to establish criteria for demonstrating functional automation software. Work with a geographically distributed remote team, closely coordinating with senior testing engineers to understand testing requirements and objectives to support the development and maintenance of processes, checklists, and procedures.
Basic Qualifications:
- Enrolled in BS Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or Equiv Eng program at an accredited college/university
- Motivated individuals who are eager to learn, grow, and contribute
- Independent thinkers ready to get real-world and hands-on experience
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
- US Citizenship required
