JOB SUMMARY:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Job Summary: The Product Owner will be responsible for defining and prioritizing product features, managing the product backlog, and ensuring that the development, QA, and business analyst teams work effectively to deliver high-quality software solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in agile methodologies, excellent leadership skills, and a passion for product success.

In This Role You Will:

Core Responsibilities:

Product Backlog Management:

  • Defining and Prioritizing: A Product Owner must define and prioritize the product backlog, which is a list of new features, bug fixes, and other activities the development team may deliver. 
  • Maintaining Currency: They ensure the product backlog is up-to-date and reflects the latest customer needs and business priorities. 
  • Communicating Clearly: They clearly communicate the product backlog items to the development team, ensuring everyone understands the requirements. 
  • Backlog Management: Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer needs.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Stakeholder Engagement: They work closely with stakeholders, including product managers, developers, and customers, to understand their needs and ensure alignment. 
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Interface with key stakeholders, including senior managers, engineering, QA, and business analysts, to define and refine requirements
  • Business Analysis: Work with business analysts to understand market needs and translate them into actionable requirements.
  • Liaison Role: They act as a liaison between product and development teams, ensuring clear communication and collaboration. 
  • User Needs Identification: They identify, and articulate user needs and translate them into user stories and requirements for the development team. 
  • Product Vision: Develop and communicate the product vision and roadmap to the agile teams and stakeholders.
  • Quality Assurance: Collaborate with QA analysts to guarantee quality, performance, and user experience are effectively tested.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports and metrics to senior management.
  • Culture Participant: All collaborations and meetings are on video

Value Maximization:

  • Prioritization: They prioritize features and improvements to ensure the team delivers the most valuable items first. 
  • Strategic Alignment: They ensure the product development aligns with overall business goals and market needs. 
  • Performance Analysis: Review and analyze product performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Continuous Improvement: Maintain and continuously improve existing product development processes and practices.
  • Continuously refining the Product: Track industry trends, refine the agile methodology based on feedback, address production issues during sprints 

Scrum Framework:

  • Sprint Planning: They collaborate with the development team during sprint planning to ensure the team selects the most valuable items from the backlog. 
  • Sprint Planning: Work closely with the Scrum Master to plan sprints and releases, ensuring that the development team has clear priorities.
  • Daily Scrum Participation: They may participate in daily scrums to stay informed on progress and identify potential roadblocks. 

Decision-Making:

  • Making Decisions: They make decisions on what to build and when, based on market needs and business priorities. 
  • Value Focus: They are always focused on maximizing the value delivered by the product. 

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in product management, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
  • Industry: Desired healthcare experience (Industry experience in Banking and/or Finance is also acceptable)
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban).
    • Proficiency in product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
    • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Scrum Master is Strongly preferred
  • Certifications: CSPO, PMP, or other relevant certifications.
  • Technical Skills: Experience with software development lifecycle and QA processes. Proficient in Microsoft suite of products including SQL.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
