Q2 is seeking a Technical Product Owner on our Backend Services team. Working with the Product & Delivery Management Teams, the Product Owner will be responsible for the tactical aspects of the roadmap and collaborating with the Product Manager for strategic planning against our suite of Backend Services products. Your work will require broad cross-product collaboration and a deep technical focus – you’ll be uncovering client, both internal and external, needs, accurately scoping effort, creating robust documentation, developing product delivery goals, working to drive down a large backlog and actively managing the product roadmap. Think of yourself as the glue that ties together Q2’s Online Banking platform: working with all the different parts of our organization to help us launch new products & integrations and evolve our existing ones so our clients can continue defining the cutting edge of banking. This position is demanding and fast paced, requiring a lot of initiative, self motivation and deep organizational skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Align with Product & Delivery leadership to plan and prioritize product feature backlog and development for the product
- Define product functionality and write detailed User Stories/Epics with empathy for the end user that help engineers build with a clear end goal in mind
- Work with the team to define each sprint plan, review completed work, and accept/reject results. This person is highly available to the team
- Apply Agile methods and processes to promote a disciplined software development process that encourages frequent inspection and adaptation of ongoing work product
- Articulate product vision and user stories in a manner clearly understandable to development teams and clients
- Deliver product acceptance testing protocol for the development organization you work with to ensure the highest quality and internal & external customer experience
- Responsible for the delivery of Objectives and Key Results
EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE:
- Typically requires a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 3+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.
- Technical background familiar with backend integrations, APIs, working with & building relationships with 3rd party vendors to create scalable solutions.
- Experience with Agile Scrum methodology
- Well versed in process management, demonstrated ability to manage complex rollouts with multiple stakeholders – has launched products at scale
- Self-starter with proven ability to deliver results with minimal assistance is a must
- Knowledge of software product development lifecycle, understanding of product design, dependencies, and tradeoffs
- Ability to break down high-level features into tactical user stories and assign and track them across multiple organizations
- Outstanding problem solving and analytical abilities
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, organization, and presentation skills
- Strong familiarity with Atlassian Suite (Jira, Confluence, etc.)
- Comfortable working with remote Business/Leadership/Engineering teams
- Desire to work with highly scalable enterprise software
