The role

We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to help us strengthen and operationalize our program-management model across Product & Technology.

The foundations are already in place. Your mandate will be to help us complete the implementation, simplify where needed and ensure the model works effectively across our software teams.

You will work closely with the Director, Program Management and teams across Product, Engineering, Platform, IT, Security, and Product Operations, with a strong focus on release execution, cross-team dependencies, risks, and delivery alignment.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the execution of product and technology releases across multiple teams.

  • Manage dependencies, risks, timelines, and scope across interconnected technical initiatives.

  • Ensure changes and delays are reflected in upcoming planning cycles.

  • Help improve and operationalize Petal’s program-management practices.

  • Facilitate effective governance, communication, and decision-making across teams.

  • Work closely with Go-to-Market stakeholders to support release readiness.

  • Bring a pragmatic approach to process and adapt best practices to Petal’s scale and environment.

What we’re looking For

  • 7+ years of experience in project and/or program management.

  • Strong experience in a software, SaaS, or software-product environment.

  • Experience managing multiple interconnected projects or programs.

  • Strong understanding of software delivery and technical dependencies.

  • Experience improving or implementing program-management practices.

  • Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and bring forward practical recommendations.

  • Strong English communication skills are required, as this role works closely with Product & Technology stakeholders across Canada, including colleagues in Ontario and other provinces who primarily work in English.

Nice-to-have

  • PMP, Scrum Master, or equivalent certification.

  • Consulting or transformation experience.

  • Healthcare or healthtech experience.

Why join us

As a Technical Program Manager at Petal, you will:

  • Take on a focused six-month mandate with the opportunity to make an impact quickly.

  • Help complete and strengthen a program-management model that is already underway.

  • Bring your experience to a complex software environment where practical judgment matters more than rigid methodology.

  • Work across multiple Product & Technology teams and gain exposure to a broad portfolio of initiatives.

  • Help establish a sustainable delivery model that will continue beyond your initial mandate.

  • Contribute to technology that improves access to care across Canada.

Depending on business needs and mutual fit, there may be an opportunity to extend the mandate or explore a longer-term opportunity.
Location: Fully remote within Canada. Candidates must be able to provide reasonable business-hour coverage in the Eastern Time Zone.

Petal is an active participant in the equal opportunity employment program, and members of the following target groups are encouraged to apply: women, people with disabilities, aboriginal peoples and visible minorities. What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
