The Role

We’re seeking a dynamic Sales Representative to join our team and drive our growth in the forensic software market.  If you thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy building lasting customer relationships, and have a proven track record in sales, we want to hear from you. 

You’ll be a driving force behind expanding our market presence and engage with potential customers on a personal level to understand their needs, and showcase how our products/services can add value to their forensic processes and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Document prospects and Sales activities in contact management system according to the Versaterm sales process.
  • Maintain data on the status of all assigned Sales prospects.
  • Review the Contract Notice upon receipt of signed contract or PO.
  • Establish, develop and maintain working relationships with prospects.
  • Qualify Sales prospect as ready, willing and/or able to buy the software application by questioning and listening to responses.
  • Identify Sales prospect agency needs, the needs of the key personnel there as well as their funding and timeline for expenditures.
  • Explain the features and benefits of case management software in general and specific Versaterm products including how those products that meet the agency's needs.
  • Demonstrate Versaterm products either on-site or via web tools to lab personnel and other stakeholders.
  • Convert Sales prospects into customers.
  • Assist labs in generating RFPs, sharing samples from other similar organizations, customizing documents and reviewing drafts.

Identify and classify crime labs and law enforcement agencies as Versaterm prospects.

  • Consult with customers regarding their internal processes, alternative best practices and ways to integrate Versaterm software into their business.
  • Maintain relationships with existing customers to identify and capitalize on additional product and service needs.
  • Attend and participate in Versaterm Sales training events and scheduled meetings and complete any associated assignments in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrable ability to achieve results both personally and through the effective management of others

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred with concentration in Business, e-Business, Management, Marketing, Sociology, Organizational Psychology, Forensic or Natural Science, or related field.
  • 5 years experience in sales with a demonstrated pattern of increasing levels of responsibility. Experience in forensic or public safety operations with a knowledge of this market may substitute for a portion or all of the years.
  • Proficient in Microsoft 365 applications
  • Absolute understanding of business ethics

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Familiarity with the ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Standard.
  • Proficient in Customer Resource Management (CRM) systems or similar shared resource systems
  • Acts as a team player and promotes cooperation across departments
