As a Technical Specialist - Industrial Automation, you will support the sales of high-tech automation and control products and work with branch personnel to identify opportunities for products to satisfy customer needs.

In this role you will:

  • Specify products to meet customer requirements and needs
  • Recommend inventory of automation products
  • Inform sales staff and customers of new developments in automation and related products technology
  • Provide technical services to customers for the operation and maintenance of automation equipment
  • Provide technical support of automation and control products to customer and Company personnel and new product updates

What you bring to the table:

  • Minimum 1 year experience in progressively more responsible sales, marketing, and/or field experience required; 4+ years experience preferred
  • Two-year degree required: Technical college or equivalent
  • Knowledge of high-tech automation and control products and engineering principles related to customer automation products
  • Knowledge of operations, sales, and information systems processes
  • Oral and written communication skills
  • Interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with management and evaluate customer needs
  • Organizational and team building skills
  • Ability to make oral and written presentations to internal and external contacts and clearly present complex solutions to non-technical staff
  • Extensive travel required

Pay Details:

The expected salary for this position is starting at $73,000 annually depending on experience. This position is also bonus eligible based on specific and relevant business metrics.

This role requires the use of your personal vehicle for business purposes. Graybar offers a Fixed and Variable Rate (FAVR) reimbursement program to support eligible drivers. This program allows you to choose and drive your own vehicle, rather than a company-assigned car, and your reimbursements can help you build equity in your vehicle over time. Please note that certain vehicle requirements, such as age and original MSRP, may impact your eligibility for tax-free reimbursement. More information about Graybar's FAVR reimbursement program will be shared upon hire.
