Job Description

The Total Rewards Manager, Compensation is an individual contributor that will provide consulting support to the Nordstrom Merchandising Group (NMG) and other internal client groups. In partnership with HR Business Partners and business leaders this compensation professional will leverage functional compensation knowledge, financial principles, and data to help business leaders execute on strategic priorities and initiatives. The primary responsibilities include consulting, and project management, and partnering with the Compensation Analysts and Compensation Governance team for project and program support.

A day in the life…

  • Consult with HR and business leaders and internal client group(s) to understand short-term and long-term business priorities and discuss ways in which total rewards programs can be leveraged to support these priorities.

  • Consult with Talent Acquisition Partners to gather, share and address compensation-related issues.

  • Advise and influence HR and business leaders in client group on compensation program effectiveness, competitiveness, design, education, and communication.

  • Lead and manage cross-functional compensation-related projects for client group, partnering with Compensation COE to deliver solutions which are consistent with our Pay & Benefits and Talent philosophies.

  • Partner with Compensation Analysts to develop high-quality, fact-based recommendations and presentations to support client-related project work and compensation program design.

  • Partner with Executive Compensation to develop VP level offers.

You own this if you have…

  • 5+ years of experience in compensation or directly applicable HR experience consulting with business leaders to drive strategic and effective people outcomes. 

  • Knowledge of technical and legal aspects of compensation

  • Experience leveraging data to present fact-based stories that inform and influence leader decision-making.

  • Experience building trusting relationships with HR and business leaders.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders at all organizational levels.

  • Ability to consider issues from multiple perspectives, develop options, and present well-informed recommendations.

  • Ability to effectively manage time and balance multiple competing priorities.

  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally and respectfully.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint

  • Bachelor's Degree in HR, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Location:

  • This is a hybrid role requiring the selected candidate work onsite 3 days per week and live within a commutable distance of our Seattle, WA corporate office

Pay Range Details

The pay range(s) below are provided in compliance with state specific laws. Pay ranges may be different in other locations.

Washington: $90,000 - $175,000 AnnuallyThis position may be eligible for performance-based incentives/bonuses. Benefits include 401k, medical/vision/dental/life/disability insurance options, PTO accruals, Holidays, and more. Eligibility requirements may apply based on location, job level, classification, and length of employment.
