Managing Director – Managed Services Transitions

CFGI’s Managed Services practice delivers transformative finance and accounting solutions by fully managing operations below the CFO level. We partner with clients to optimize their finance functions, streamline processes, enhance reporting, and enable faster, data-driven decision-making across core finance areas including accounting operations, financial close, and reporting.
We are seeking a strategic and execution-focused Managing Director to lead and scale our Managed Services Transitions function. This leader will be responsible for establishing the operational foundation for new client engagements, ensuring a controlled transition into CFGI’s delivery model, and building a scalable, repeatable transition capability across the platform.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Serve as the leader of CFGI’s Managed Services Transitions function, overseeing a portfolio of client transitions from sale through go-live
- Lead and/or support project teams responsible for executing transition activities, including planning, kickoff, execution, and issue resolution across multiple concurrent engagements
- Establish and maintain a centralized view of all transition activity, including pipeline, active engagements, and upcoming demand, to provide visibility into status, risks, and capacity
- Define, implement, and continuously improve standardized transition methodologies, playbooks, and tools to drive consistency and scalability across engagements
- Ensure consistent execution of core transition frameworks, including kickoff processes, status reporting, and milestone tracking
- Partner with sales and delivery leadership to align transition readiness with pipeline growth and support go-to-market efforts
- Identify and implement opportunities to leverage automation, workflow tools, and reporting dashboards to enhance transition execution and efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Managed Services, Finance Effectiveness, and Digital to deliver integrated solutions
- Build and lead a high-performing team of Directors, Senior Managers, and Managers, providing mentorship, performance management, and professional development
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance expectations across the Transitions organization
- Contribute to the ongoing development and evolution of CFGI’s Managed Services platform through innovation and continuous improvement
Qualifications and Capabilities:
- 15+ years of progressive experience in finance transformation, managed services, or large-scale program delivery, preferably within a consulting or professional services environment
- Proven ability to lead complex, multi-workstream programs and manage a portfolio of concurrent engagements
- Strong understanding of finance operations (R2R, P2P, O2C), process improvement, and finance systems (e.g., ERP, EPM, automation tools)
- Experience developing and utilizing dashboards or reporting tools to drive visibility into project status, risks, and capacity
- Executive-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and drive change
- Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing teams in a fast-paced environment
- Entrepreneurial mindset, strong client service orientation, and ability to operate with urgency and accountability
Reporting Structure:
- Reports to the Managed Services Leader and Chief Product Officer
- Oversees Directors, Senior Managers, and Managers within the Transitions function
