Ontra is the global leader in AI legal tech for private markets. Powered by industry-leading AI, data from 1M+ contracts, and a global network of legal professionals, Ontra's private markets technology platform streamlines and optimizes critical legal and compliance workflows across the full fund lifecycle. Lawyers in the Ontra Legal Network operate as fully remote, independently practicing lawyers, without the administrative constraints of a traditional legal practice. Ontra handles invoicing, billing, collections, and business development, allowing lawyers to stay focused on delivering high quality services to their clients whilst remaining at the forefront of technological innovation.
How Does it Work?
Ontra offers a unique opportunity for lawyers to leverage their legal skills while establishing a private practice, growing an existing one, or, for those already established in the Legal Network, collaborating with Ontra's internal team to scale their operations. Ontra aims to connect lawyers with potential client engagement opportunities that suit their schedules and experience, with dedicated support from Ontra along the way - though ultimately, all client engagements will be subject to agreement between the lawyer and their prospective client.
With the typical client-lawyer relationship lasting over two years, Ontra allows for the development of long-term, stable partnerships. Ontra is committed to supporting lawyers in achieving their business goals. Through access to Ontra's platform and administrative support, lawyers are empowered to treat their practice as a scalable business venture.

What you need to know about the Seattle Tech Scene

Home to tech titans like Microsoft and Amazon, Seattle punches far above its weight in innovation. But its surrounding mountains, sprinkled with world-famous hiking trails and climbing routes, make the city a destination for outdoorsy types as well. Established as a logging town before shifting to shipbuilding and logistics, the Emerald City is now known for its contributions to aerospace, software, biotech and cloud computing. And its status as a thriving tech ecosystem is attracting out-of-town companies looking to establish new tech and engineering hubs.

Key Facts About Seattle Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 287,000; 13% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Google
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, software, biotechnology, game development
  • Funding Landscape: $3.1 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Madrona, Fuse, Tola, Maveron
  • Research Centers and Universities: University of Washington, Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Allen Institute for Brain Science, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Children’s Research Institute
