The Principal, Technical Program Manager leads complex, large-scale technology programs by defining goals, managing cross-functional dependencies, and driving end-to-end delivery. This role requires expertise in program and risk management, technical design, and stakeholder engagement to ensure alignment and successful execution. The position involves translating product requirements into scalable technical solutions, optimizing processes, and mentoring team members. The incumbent proactively addresses challenges, manages resources, and implements improvements to enhance operational excellence while maintaining clear communication across varied teams and stakeholders to achieve strategic business outcomes.

The Marketplace Tech team at Walmart develops scalable, innovative solutions supporting a vast retail ecosystem. This multidisciplinary group of engineers, architects, and product leaders collaborates to build robust platforms for fulfillment, logistics, and seller experience. Their work includes global supply chain integration, marketplace growth, and customer-focused delivery and returns solutions. Utilizing advanced technology, data insights, and domain expertise, the team ensures Walmart Marketplace remains agile, reliable, and ready to expand across new business models and markets, driving operational excellence and sustained growth.
What you'll do:

• Define and manage program goals, stage gates, critical delivery paths, and key deliverables across multiple interdependent projects.
• Secure commitments for program scopes, delivery dates, and resources while managing cross-functional dependencies.
• Translate product requirements into technical designs and ensure robust system contracts to prevent production issues.
• Drive risk identification, mitigation, and resolution to maintain program progress and unblock teams.
• Establish scalable workflows, prioritization frameworks, and operational excellence practices for program delivery.
• Communicate progress, risks, and impacts clearly to stakeholders and align teams on objectives.
• Mentor team members on best practices and promote continuous improvement in program execution.

What you'll bring:

• Extensive experience in program and project management, including risk and stakeholder management across complex, cross-functional initiatives.
• Proven ability to define and execute program plans with clear goals, stage gates, and critical delivery paths under resource constraints.
• Strong technical expertise in system design, cloud infrastructure, and software lifecycle management to guide scalable, high-availability solutions.
• Skilled in identifying synergies, managing dependencies, and driving operational excellence frameworks for large-scale technology programs.
• Effective communicator with the ability to align varied stakeholders and deliver clear, data-driven reports and updates.
• Demonstrated analytical problem-solving skills to assess risks, extract insights, and implement continuous improvements.

Bellevue, Washington US-11663: The annual salary range for this position is $132,000.00 - $264,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :
