As a UX Research Intern, you will leverage qualitative and quantitative research methods to conduct research that ensures the Databricks user experience is measurably usable, efficient, and delightful. You will learn how to be a successful researcher at a high-growth enterprise technology company that operates at the important intersection of data and AI. You will partner with Engineering, Product Management, and Design, and report to the UX Research lead. You will have a dedicated mentor and will join our intern cohort where you'll connect with product managers, engineers, designers, account teams, other interns, and leaders from across the company.

The impact your will have:

  • Conduct user research: Plan and execute qualitative and quantitative research studies to understand the needs, desires, and behaviors of our users.
  • Analyze data: Interpret and synthesize research findings to generate actionable insights and recommendations for product improvements.
  • Collaborate with teams: Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to integrate research findings into the product development process.
  • Create research reports: Prepare detailed research reports and presentations to communicate insights effectively to stakeholders.

What we look for: 

  • Currently enrolled in a graduate degree program in Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Science, Statistics, Psychology, Anthropology, or a related field Pursuing with an expected graduation date of December 2026 or Spring 2027
  • Skilled in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies, such as contextual inquiry, usability testing, diary studies, and survey design and statistics
  • Prior research experience through internships, academic labs, or scholarly projects
  • Detail-oriented and passionate about understanding user needs and behaviors.

Pay Range Transparency

Databricks is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range(s) for this role is listed below and represents the expected salary range for non-commissionable roles or on-target earnings for commissionable roles.  Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to job-related skills, depth of experience, relevant certifications and training, and specific work location. Based on the factors above, Databricks anticpates utilizing the full width of the range. The total compensation package for this position may also include eligibility for annual performance bonus, equity, and the benefits listed above.
